About the team

The Regulatory Compliance team has an important mission at Nubank: ensure that we are compliant with applicable regulations. That means we need to understand both the regulation and our business, so we can act in a true partnership with our internal clients, and not only be a distributor of new rules. Our team should help with the interpretation of regulations, definition of action plans as well as monitoring and testing their implementation. Also, the team is responsible to map and quantify regulatory risks of existing products/processes in order to properly manage them, providing a safe environment to support the decision making process and the sustainability of Nubank.


About the role

  • Deep analyze new rules and understand its impacts, being hungry to go after information and knowledge by himself/herself;
  • Assess and challenge the action plans defined by business units and monitor its implementation;
  • Manage activities and prioritization to meet internal and regulatory deadlines;
  • Connect and have a good relationship with squads, and be able to negotiate deadlines;
  • Be assertive and objective when writing and presenting regulatory matters (advisories and tracking).


Basic Qualifications

  • Had discussed the interpretation of a regulation related to bank products and processes;
  • Interpretation and strong logical thinking;
  • Summarize main changes/to do's of a new rule;
  • Tested or implemented or gave consultancy of a Central Bank regulation;
  • Banking industry experience and/or knowledge of main products;
  • Writing skills and objectiveness;
  • Negotiation (for tasks prioritization);
  • Organization;
  • Advanced english.


Preferred Qualification

  • Has been exposed to regulatory compliance, cybersecurity and risk management regulatory activities in a financial and/or tech company for at least 1 year;
  • Has worked with structuring and measuring KPIs/KRIs, presenting information in dashboards and reports format;
  • Has dealt with stakeholders that communicate in English and Portuguese.

*Interviewing and onboarding are currently done virtually due to COVID-19. Everyone new to the team and our current staff will remain working from home until it is safe to return to our offices. When it’s time, we will require a fixed cadence of visiting the office in which employees go to their Business Unit's (BU) base location. Employees will have an employment contract based on the cities that Nu’s offices are located, considering their country of hire. More details can be shared during your hiring process.
