Horce Mann is looking for a Field Appraiser responsible for providing an extraordinary customer service experience by adhering to strict response guidelines, company best claim practices and state compliance standards. This position is remote but must live within the Addison, TX or DFW area.
Responsibilities:
- Establish and maintain effective communication that keeps customers informed of the repair process, providing a frictionless experience.
- Utilize estimating software and photos to correctly write damages and evaluate the loss.
- Negotiate with repair facilities to ensure a fair and reasonable outcome for each claim.
- Issue payments, send estimate and letters in a timely manner.
- Review claims for supplemental damage to ensure they are related and settled at fair value.
- Must stay up to date with constant changes in industry laws and regulations.
- Ability to service customers face-to face in high stress situations.
- Protect company equipment and present oneself in a professional manner when meeting with customers.
- Inspect and evaluate damage to insured and third-party claimant vehicles in a timely manner.
- Determine if vehicles are repairable or meet the state requirement for being a total.
- Audit body shop repair estimates for accuracy and negotiates with the shop to obtain an agreed upon price for repairs loss.
- Adhere to company guidelines for parts usage, discounts, and claims handling practice.
- Establish and maintain good public relations with insureds, claimants, agents, repair shops, claim office personnel and company employees.
- Provide technical and professional interpretation and advice.
Requirements:
- H.S. diploma or GED equivalent, required.
- Must have valid Texas driver’s license.
- 3+ years of auto body repair, body shop or auto field appraiser experience preferred.
- CCC experience and Icar training is a plus.
- Obtain and maintain state adjuster’s license.
- Proactive and strong customer service and communication skills.
- Effective organizational and multi-tasking skills required.
- Periodic required travel and the ability to kneel, stoop, bend, or climb to perform inspections.
- Must be able to lift at least 30 lbs. and handle tools, such as pry bar and floor jack.

Pay Range:
- $58,300 - $91,600/yr.
Salary is commensurate to experience, location, etc.
