The candidate must live close and be able to travel to the Springfield, IL or Madison, WI office on occasion.
The role for the Employee Experience Consultant will focus on our organization-wide engagement, recognition, and inclusion initiatives and other key projects and programs to create a meaningful and impactful employee experience for our employees at Horace Mann. In this role, the consultant will deliver on projects and initiatives that help to measure and drive action around engagement and employee experience. They will contribute to the employee listening strategy, create and maintain trusted working relationships across the organization to identify and share programs and best practices that shape the employee experience. Consult with Director and key stakeholders to plan, design, deploy, and analyze voice of customer data including engagement/experience survey, onboarding, exit and other means of customer feedback. Consultant will analyze data and trends, researching and recommending ways to continue to enhance and improve the employee experience and impact culture.
Responsibilities
- Assist the Director of Employee Experience with delivering highly effective talent and culture initiatives that embrace our core values and supports and maintains a high performing, inclusive culture at Horace Mann.
- In partnership with various key stakeholders, help to plan, design, deploy and analyze the Voice of Customer and employee survey process and pulse survey process. This may also include survey sources such as onboarding, exit and other customer feedback.
- Build, plan, monitor, measure listening strategy and connection initiatives and ensures programs are effective in supporting an inclusive and positive employee culture.
- Assist with driving Distinctive Service and embedding service minded processes and actions across the business.
- Design, build, innovate, and coordinate recognition and rewards programs, in conjunction with the Director, including evolving, enhancing and measuring to cultivate a supportive and rewarding culture.
- Foster a culture of equity, belonging and inclusion, supporting and consulting on diversity, equity and inclusion initiatives and programs in partnership with other key business stakeholders.
- Lead Employee Resource Group (ERG) development and implementation, including compiling employee interest, advertising membership, coordinating with ERG leads, consulting with groups as needed. Evaluate and monitor progress and correlations to key data trends such as turnover, engagement, etc.
- In partnership with Total Rewards, may support efforts that impact employee wellness and wellbeing in conjunction with the talent and culture coordinator.
- Assist with continuous evaluation of the employee experience lifecycle from hiring to retirement to ensure a positive employee experience.
- Build, design, implement employee connections and assists with leading connecting with purpose strategies across the enterprise.
- In partnership with VP, Director, and Communications, ensure Horace Mann is meeting ESGs, specifically “S” social responsibility.
- Collect and analyze data on the organization’s employee experience programs and initiatives, comparing to demographic data from similar industry organizations, and collaborates with leadership team for creative ways to improve and grow programs.
- Research strategies and compares to HM goals and suggests ways to improve.
- Monitor and maintain critical metrics and KPIs, reviewing, analyzing, and prepares reporting to proactively diagnose and address key talent and culture trends, advancements, and opportunities.
- Provide training and education related to employee experience strategies and initiatives.
- Provide project management to key projects, ensuring all workstreams are supporting our vision for employees and their experience while ensuring projects stay on time and on task.
- Participate in or lead committees and workgroups as needed.
- Periodic travel may be required (up to 25%).
- Normal office environment/hybrid work schedule.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in human resources, business, or related field required. Master’s degree in Human Resources, business or related field preferred.
- PHR/SPHR or SHRM-CP/SCP strongly preferred.
- Minimum of five (5) years of HR experience specifically related to employee engagement, diversity/equity/inclusion, employee relations or similar required.
- Strong business acumen.
- Excellent project management skills, ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office products; analytical skills required.
- Strong communication skills, written and verbal, and presentation skills.
