Job Context and Purpose

ADIPEC is the largest energy event in the world and is the flagship event for dmg events across the entire worldwide portfolio. The event is critical to the positioning of the UAE, the city and government of Abu Dhabi and the Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC).  The event provides a platform to convene the worldwide industry and reflects the UAE’s position as an international energy hub where policy and the future of the industry is shaped and where comments made by global Ministers and CEO’s, affects pricing across the oil trading markets.

Due to the success and positioning of the event, there is a constant expectation from the government and key event stakeholders to supersede the successes of the previous edition.

  • To ensure a world class level of project management that reflects the position of the event as the world’s pre-eminent energy exhibition and conference.
  • Lead the Project Management for the ADIPEC Awards.


Key Accountabilities

  • Responsible for developing, managing and delivering the ADIPEC Awards
  •  Work with the marketing lead to develop annual marketing strategy to raise profile and increase attendees for the ADIPEC Awards year-on-year.
  • Work on a daily basis with the ADNOC lead and ensure that communication is on a very regular basis with this key stakeholder.
  •   Prepare update reports to share with the key stake-holder on a weekly basis.
  •   Main contact for jurors communication.
  • Responsible for attendee numbers for the Awards.
  • Manage the project budget.
  •  Negotiate with suppliers.
  • Work closely with Director of Marketing and ADIPEC Marketing Team to align the strategy and messaging with the event.
  •  Produce valuable and engaging content that attracts and converts our target groups.
  • Work with the marketing team and oversee the creative development and write the content of all promotional materials, website, advertisements, and other marketing-related requirements.
  • Communicates with stakeholders and suppliers.
  •    Measure, analyse and report on the performance of marketing campaigns, gain insight and assess against goals.
  •  Work closely with the head of sponsorship to develop a range of branding, thought leadership and sponsorship opportunities for the Awards.
  • Work closely with the marketing and data build team to identify relevant c-suite executives who should be part of the awards program.
  •   Work closely with the commercial team to develop and broaden the reach of the awards to key clients.
  • Work closely with the operations team in the fulfilment and delivery of the Awards project.
  • Manage the freelance and temp staff working on the project.
  •   Work closely with the marketing lead and PR Agency to deliver a strong and compelling PR strategy.
  • Work closely with the approved Event Agency to deliver a first class event.


The candidate – what you’ll need:

  •  At least 5 years year's demonstrable experience at management level in project management and marketing and communication.
  •  Events experience is a must.
  •  Detailed knowledge of marketing and communications.
  • Experience of dealing with and managing high-profile key stakeholder relations.
  • Metrics-driven with strong ownership and focus.
  • Knowledge of mid to large scale B2B exhibitions and conferences.
  • Appreciation of international cultures/foreign language.
  • Ability to network and liaise with senior people/trade bodies and associations.
  • Anticipation of market trends and proactive market involvement.
  • Degree educated,

  • Communication – excellent written English and verbal communication skills, report writing, copywriting and presentation skills.
  • Strong organisational and project management skills are essential.
