JOB PURPOSE

This role is part of our newly formed UK New Business Team. DEPT® is one of the first and most well-renowned Google Marketing Platform (GMP) resellers. To make sure we realise our commercial growth together with Google in the UK&I, we're looking for a proactive & commercially minded new business developer to be responsible for our business development and lead generation. You will work closely with the wider EMEA GMP team and will be our first local resource in the UK&I market and will play a big role in shaping our operations and strategy here. 

As our Business Developer you'll be part of the GMP team and it is your responsibility to make sure we create the best sales opportunities and leads. You like to meet new people, are a networker at heart and understand how to utilise your connections, to convert leads into clients. We expect you to have already gained significant sales experience and have a strong interest in digital marketing. 

At DEPT® the brightest minds work for a wide range of customers every day, such as Philips, Smart, Just Eat Takeaway, Foot Locker & Sunweb. The GMP team is relatively new within DEPT®, and therefore there is lots of room for growth.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Generate quality GMP leads in the UK&I market
  • Co-present pitches about GMP for existing & potential clients
  • Work closely with the Growth Director and Business Directors to integrate GMP within the UK proposition
  • Contract negotiations
  • Hit sales targets in terms of closed deals
  • Build relationships with existing customers for cross-sell opportunities
  • Network with relevant industry bodies and groups to raise the profile of DEPT within the industry
  • Contribute to the ongoing improvement of the business development process including qualification strategy, win strategy, pitch casting, usability and best practices in order to better win and deliver for clients, and enhance the DEPT® customer experience
  • Collaborate with marketing teams to ensure that DEPT®’s differentiated positioning comes to life through case studies, PR, thought leadership content and other marketing material

 

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

  • Have already gained extensive commercial experience and can tell a story about your best win
  • Extensive network in the UK&I digital marketing industry
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills 
  • Excellent interpersonal and presentation skills - You can network like the best! 
  • Self-starter that enjoys autonomy
  • GMP familiarity is a big plus, however tech skills are important but secondary
  • Understanding of digital / marketing agencyScore bonus points if you have affinity or experience with search or programmatic advertising
  • Have a network of industry contacts
