Essential Job Duties
As a Financial Analyst in our FP&A department, you will play a vital role in providing the insights and analysis that drive strategic decisions across BambooHR. Leveraging your finance and marketing expertise, you’ll partner with cross-functional leaders to connect financial insights to marketing strategy, ensuring our initiatives are both impactful and efficient.
This role offers the opportunity to blend analytical skills with marketing acumen, making you a key player in shaping the company’s growth strategy. Whether it's supporting campaign planning, optimizing marketing spend, or providing data-driven recommendations, your work will have a direct impact on our success at BambooHR.
You will:
- Partner with marketing and business leaders to deliver in-depth financial analysis and actionable insights, improving processes and maximizing ROI.
- Help manage our Marketing software tools (Uptempo)
- Build financial models, run scenario analysis, and provide data analytics to identify areas of risk and opportunity.
- Manage programmatic spend and budgets.
- Assist with marketing expenditure planning and monthly forecasts, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and alignment with company objectives.
- Meet with stakeholders to scope future projects and manage expectations on timelines
- Leverage data to tell a story and present it through data visualizations in compelling dashboards and reports to aid in decision making.
What You Need to Get the Job Done
- Finance Experience: You have 2+ years of experience in prior strategic FP&A roles (doing things like headcount forecasting, budgeting, financial modeling, financial reporting, data analytics, etc.)
- Excel Skills: You can often be found building things in Excel and calling it fun!
- Tech: Experience with Uptempo or similar budgeting software.
- Business Acumen: A solid grasp of general business operations, with a particular focus on marketing's role in driving growth.
- Executive Presence: You bring confidence, understanding, and empathy to cross-functional partnerships and are comfortable working directly with leadership teams.
- Proactivity: You’re a self-starter who takes initiative and strives for continuous improvement. Rather than waiting to be asked, you find what needs to be done and build solutions!
What Will Make Us REALLY Love You
- While past Analyst experience is needed, having Analyst experience in the SaaS industry specifically is a big bonus.
- Past experience working with our tech stack is highly preferred: Tableau, Uptempo, Workday Adaptive Planning, Snowflake, Salesforce, and Coupa.
- You enjoy creating structure in fast-paced, and quickly changing environments.
- You’re a strategic thinker who is able to connect to the big picture while working in the sometimes ambiguous details.
- You have a degree in finance or a related field.
- You are located in Utah and excited about coming into our Draper, UT office 1+ days a week for some collaborative meetings.
