Essential Job Duties

As Director of Marketing Operations, you’ll lead a team of marketing operations and marketing analytics professionals, partnering closely with senior marketing leadership to optimize marketing performance and drive company growth. You’ll enjoy access to a well-resourced marketing tech stack and be given ample opportunities to build. Your work will enable data-driven decision-making, operational execution, process efficiency, and technology innovation across BambooHR’s marketing organization.

Specifically, you will:

  • Lead Marketing Ops & Analytics Team: Provide leadership and mentorship to a growing team of 10+ downline employees (including people leaders), while fostering a culture of collaboration, continuous learning, and innovation.
  • Foster Cross-Functional Partnership: You’ll function as a thought partner to marketing leaders, with a focus on building trust, driving alignment across teams, and identifying opportunities to improve, simplify, and optimize.
  • Set Marketing Strategic Alignment & Vision: You’ll articulate a future-state vision for excellence in Marketing Operations & Analytics (people, process, technology) and isolate the gap between desired and current state, with a clear plan of execution inclusive of managing change.
  • Design Marketing Operational Roadmap: You’ll design a roadmap of Marketing Operations  & Analytics initiatives aligned to company OKRs.
  • Create Team Clarity & Focus: You’ll rigorously prioritize marketing initiatives and resources across a diverse set of marketing stakeholder needs, setting appropriate expectations and evaluating trade offs when needed.
  • Manage MarTech Stack: You’ll partner with IT and technical resources to ensure that we have a leading and financially viable technology stack that enables scale within our lead flow and distribution (Marketo, Salesforce, LeanData, 6Sense, Tableau, Adobe AEM, Adobe Analytics, Zoominfo, etc.)
  • Lead Data and Performance Analytics Strategy: You’ll work with senior marketing leaders to define strategic KPIs, overseeing data analysis strategy and advanced dashboard creation to provide actionable marketing insights. 
  • Collaborate on our Data Warehouse: You'll coordinate with the data warehouse team (Snowflake) to ensure seamless alignment between marketing operations data needs and warehouse infrastructure to support robust analytics and reporting.

What You Need to Get the Job Done

  • 8+ years of experience in marketing operations, analytics, and data analysis in a related technical / SaaS business (3+ in senior leader capacities).
  • Visionary Leadership: You function as a truly people-first leader. You motivate your team through clear vision, inspiring action while reconciling viewpoints. You have real passion for mentoring and developing your team members.
  • Deep Marketing Understanding: You bring an understanding of SaaS sales and marketing funnels - including traditional and non-traditional demand generation structures, online demand gen channels, lead attribution modeling, ABM, international segmentation, owned media, etc.
  • Analytics Expertise: You have deep hands-on experience with implementing marketing analytics and BI solutions, with proficiency in data mining principles, predictive analytics, statistical techniques, and building dashboards.
  • Change Management: You have past experience with innovating a marketing funnel and its operations to support new go-to-market strategies, including successfully driving change across an organization.
  • Marketing Automation Experience: You have significant marketing automation experience including attribution, nurture campaigns, and asset management. You’re also well-versed in predictive modeling strategies and advanced attribution.
  • Cross-Functional Expertise and Influence: You have experience partnering across many in-house teams. You use analysis and judgment to influence up, down, and across.
  • Exceptional Business Acumen: You understand financials, SaaS revenue metrics, forecasting, and overall business strategy and know how to execute against a plan.
  • Strong Executive Influence: You have extensive experience interfacing with executives on an elevated level, driving leadership alignment and investment across key areas of the business.
  • Physical Requirements: You’re able to spend 90% of your working hours in front of a computer typing or on Zoom.
  • Location: You’re able to work from an office setting (our Draper, UT HQ) multiple times each week.
