Essential Job Duties

We are looking for an experienced software engineer who will engineer BambooHR's internal tools and processes. This role will have a heavy emphasis on analytical architecture, and will build, monitor, and manage the software and infrastructure used internally. You will help drive decisions on the direction of Bamboo's internal corporate application and infrastructure architecture to improve its availability and scalability. This role includes both software engineer and systems engineer roles in other companies assigned to support internal business and data applications and systems, as well as team leadership.

You will:

  • Manage infrastructure changes through automation in order to best support our internal teams
  • Work closely with our Salesforce administration team to integrate with Salesforce
  • Act as team or project lead, conduct daily standup meetings, manage Kanban board for sprints
  • Improve Gitlab CI pipelines with quality gates, frequent, releases, and appropriate testing
  • Provision and scale our AWS based technology stack to support our contact center & support teams including IVR configuration, Digital messaging, voice transcription in Salesforce
  • Provision and scale our AWS, and GCP based technology stack to support our data warehouse tools including: MySQL, RDS, Snowflake, Machine learning and Kubernetes
  • Establish and document coding, testing and deployment standards and share best practices.
  • Design and implement data security for data pipelines and databases.
  • Write code for our process automations using orchestration tools like Make and Integromat.

What You Need to Get the Job Done

  • Experience with Agile and Kanban development processes,ensure projects are completed with a focus on quality and efficiency
  • Collaborating with stakeholders across the organization by building relationships - lead and mentor other Systems Engineers to successful outcomes by understanding and aligning strategies to achieve common goals
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent experience
  • 7+ years of experience programming in Python, PHP, NodeJS, Java script, React or similar languages
  • 7+ years of systems programming experience with Linux
  • AWS Solutions Architect and DevOps Engineer certification or comparable experience in cloud Engineering
  • Experience with data ETL tools and services
  • Strong working knowledge of cluster and node group technologies: Kubernetes, Docker, Github actions, and Terraform
  • Experience running and supporting and debugging production applications

What Will Make Us REALLY Love You 

  • Demonstrated proficiency with Cloud technologies, AWS Solutions Architect certification or comparable experience in cloud Engineering
  • You have experience using SSL certificates and IAM with ec2 and s3 in AWS

  • You are experienced with Git for CI, or similar tools
