Essential Job Duties

We are seeking a candidate with a strong technical and project management background, exceptional leadership skills, and a proven track record in managing high-performing teams. As a key player in our mission to set people free to do great work, you will help develop strategies to enhance processes, drive efficiencies, and scale our payroll onboarding team to the next level by:

  • Developing and retaining top talent, to ensure headcount is fully utilized
  • Define, capture, and report on metrics that promote the right behaviors from the team and drive the overall success of the team forward
  • Design and continually refine the process for onboarding payroll clients
  • Conduct compensation and career advancement discussions with teams to help multiply and grow the department
  • Help other groups recognize their touchpoints with the client and the impact that has on their experience.
  • Analyzing team processes consistently and develop changes to promote increased efficiencies
  • Develop interdepartmental collaboration that promotes client retention and PM growth opportunities
  • Identify the resources needed for the Payroll Imp team (Ops, Product, other depts, etc) and take the necessary steps to ensure those resources are collaborative/coordinated/received
  • Become a protector of BambooHR’s culture, strategically thinking about how decisions will change policies, practices, personal stories, and satisfaction
  • Develop and achieve objectives and goals to support company vision/initiatives
  • Ensure eNPS for team maintains at a high level along with NPS/CSAT for customer experience maintains at a high level
  • Responsible for resource planning and being fiscally minded and careful with human capital
  • Looks to maximize return and maintain team morale
  • Looks to grow key talent to other areas of CX or for leadership
  • Hiring/firing and improvement plans for employees that are performing below standards
  • Final interviews for all department hires

What You Need to Get the Job Done

  • 5+ years of proven experience in the nuances and specifics of payroll; including payroll onboarding dynamics/processes
  • Experience with SAAS environment 
  • 5+ years of successful management experience, preferably in an onboarding/implementation environment
  • Experience in having difficult conversations in a management role
  • Consistently meets or exceeds key performance in prior role
  • Proven to have highly organized and able to multitask
  • Demonstrates exceptional communication skills
  • Able to function successfully in a collaborative team environment
  • Strong leadership skills – must be able to work confidently and effectively with multiple departments and levels within the company
  • Ability to de-escalate client and internal situations
