In literacy, students participate in five components throughout the day that develop them as readers and writers. Our reading and writing workshop units, sourced from Teachers College content as well as Success Academy THINK Literacy materials, teach children a set of reading and writing skills that build to evaluation and expression of ideas. Teachers model with their own writing or familiar texts, and then through guided practice allow children to try with their own books or written pieces.
