You’ll own design throughout the product development lifecycle, and work on a range of projects from designing industry disrupting 0-1 features to making improvements to our existing features based on user feedback.

The product design team is a small team of passionate designers and researchers with a big voice in Workato’s most strategic, important initiatives. We’re looking for an accomplished Senior Interaction Designer who’s passionate about creating the best possible experience for your users. If you love working on complex problems, have experience leading cross-functional teams towards the simplest design solution, and are passionate about solving complex problems and working with great people, you’ll fit right in! 

Responsibilities

As a Senior Interaction Designer at Workato, you will be responsible to:

  • Design the core Asset experience within Workato, including information architecture of objects; how permissions are granted for using those objects; develop multiple views of the object tree reconciled to the context in which it is being seen; and highlight metrics associated with each Asset space.

  • Report to the Design Director and map the above project's goals, objectives, and requirements to customer intent and design to address both business and user needs.

  • Before starting work, question and iterate on requirements and deep dive to understand technical implementation constraints.

  • Whenever possible, use qualitative and quantitative data as guiding posts for decisions. When not available, build a hypothesis to guide the project.

  • Contribute to the design system library. Review and update widgets based on the needs of each project.

  • Give and receive actionable critique during design presentations, and strive to improve the team's design quality and output.

  • QA features for GA release to check for consistency with signed-off designs.

  • Work on motion design and visual design for your projects to introduce sophistication in the final output. Prototype solutions as per requirements.

  • Actively interview candidates, and help grow the design team.

Requirements

  • A Bachelors or Masters Degree in Psychology/ Human Factors/ HCI/ Design with proven industry experience,

  • Strong problem identification, information architecture, typography, interaction design, visual design, and motion design skills.

  • Ability to defend design decisions to stakeholders; humility to accept feedback, and get consensus to move the project forward.

  • Be self-directed, and want to have complete ownership of the work being done.
