Responsibilities

We are looking for a Senior Technical Product Marketing Manager to join our product team and have a direct impact on establishing Workato as the leader in the Enterprise Automation Platform category.

In this role, you will lead the launch of products and programs to drive awareness, engagement, and usage of Workato. You must possess a blend of business and technical skills, have a big-picture vision and the drive to make that vision a reality with extreme attention to detail. This role will drive a technical product content strategy to help our prospects and customers understand what is possible with Workato’s enterprise automation platform. We need someone who is an action-oriented leader who can build unique, compelling, and highly technical content to enable customers, partners, and internal teams to better understand, and use the product. You will also be responsible to:

  • Launch planning & execution. Develop a relationship with Product Management and your deep understanding of the product roadmap to drive a companywide launch program. You will help develop launch narratives in collaboration with your Product Marketing teammates, build executive leadership consensus, and navigate the organization to land our messages and strategy successfully.

  • Technical content creation & evangelism: You will be the technical subject matter expert on the Workato Product and leverage this knowledge to build scalable technical product presentations, whitepapers, product guides, blogs product videos, technical briefs, and other tools to sell to our technical personas and evangelize this as a thought leader

  • Translate detailed and complex technical concepts into clear and compelling narratives for prospects and customers, working closely with marketing, product, and engineering

  • Product positioning & strategy: You will connect automation and technology trends with Workato technology to build technical product positioning and messages for key use cases and be a bridge between customers and internal product strategy

  • Product expert to customers and partners: You will evangelize and demonstrate Workato products externally, to prospects, and customers—in meetings, webinars, and anywhere else required. You will serve as a thought expert with customers to speak about Workato differentiators, use cases, and technology.

  • Competitive: You will be an expert on the market landscape and competitive features and differentiators and conduct in-depth technical competitive research and analysis to create competitive content for the field

  • Cross-team partnership — This role will work with, product, engineering, product marketing, and customer success and sales engineering (SE) teams to deliver slide decks, tutorials, demos, videos, and technical white papers that align with our go-to-market initiatives.

  • Company builder: As a key member of the marketing team, you’ll be deeply involved in company and team building and strategy

  • Product enablement for Sales/CS— Host product enablement training sessions for CS/Sales and other teams on key capabilities, new features, product roadmap, and competitive differentiators.

Requirements

  • BS in CS/CE or equivalent technical degree preferred

  • 5-7 years of technical product marketing experience with demonstrated ability in a technical or field-facing role related to cloud, app dev, infrastructure, or IT operations.

  • Industry/technology expertise is required in several of the following areas: Cloud, microservices, integration, automation, low code/no code apps, and APIs.

  • Ability to quickly learn about new technologies and ability to compare functionality as well as evaluate feature parity.

  • Ability to write strong, effective technical content (white papers, technical briefs, test reports, etc.) for external audiences with a balance of technical accuracy, strategy, and clear messaging.

  • Ability to comfortably present and demo our products in front of internal/external audiences (large and small, live and recorded)

  • Deep customer focus and understanding are needed to build materials that resonate with customers.

  • Excellent Communicator with a strong ability to take a project from idea to execution.

  • Previous experience in Professional Services, Solutions Engineering, Technical Writing, Customer Success, Product Management, or Technical Product Marketing

  • You are a storyteller who has the creativity and writing skills to communicate technical topics with authenticity

  • Passion & technical comfort with getting deep into cloud products, automation platforms, and other B2B technologies

  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple simultaneous projects with multiple stakeholders in a dynamic, fast-paced environment

  • Self-motivated and able to take the initiative without needing a high level of supervision.

  • Proven technical and marketing skills, including the ability to customize solutions, facilitate product demonstrations and effectively communicate Workato value propositions and key differentiators

  • Demonstrated ability to learn new technologies such as Camtasia, ScreenFlow or DemoEasel

  • Very strong written and oral communication skills, an excellent storyteller
