About the role

As a Regional Buyer-Produce, you will be responsible for planning and replenishing items based on sales history and forecasts to satisfy customer demand in the region. You will source the local’s favorite produce for our customers. You will have the opportunity to flex your negotiation and strategic planning skills to drive the growth and success of our produce category. Your job is to bring the “art” to the “science” – using your intuition and expertise fueled by data, analytics, and, above all, a passion for helping our customers get high-quality produce and live better. 

Responsibilities

  • Drive regional produce revenue growth through effective assortment strategy and margin management
  • Identify customer preference and source for local and exciting produce products our customers will love
  • Negotiate to secure competitive pricing for maximum profitability
  • Closely monitor product quality and inventory; take proactive measures to ensure the availability of products, and reduce spoilage
  • Run effective promotions to drive sales: identify good quality and high-demand items at optimal price
  • Work with demand planners on PO and manage PO execution, work with vendors to ensure timely fulfillment and issue resolution
  • Maintain trusting relationships with vendors, and ensure vendors follow best operational practices
  • Address and solve AP issues;
  • Follow customer service reports to identify and prevent issues
  • Promote and support company policies, mission, values, and standards of ethics and integrity

 

Key Qualifications

  • Requires at least 1 year+ of experience in the Produce/Retail industry-related field.
  • Passion for produce and eagerness to learn more about the industry
  • Familiarity with market research, data analysis, and forecasting techniques
  • Experience developing strong business relationships with vendors and industry leaders
  • Self-starter mentality with outstanding organizational skills, high attention to detail, and ability to multitask
  • Excited to be at a fast-paced, continually changing startup

Compensation Range

  • The US base salary range for this full-time position is $57,000 - $72,000
  • This role may be eligible to discretionary bonus, incentives and benefits 
  • Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location

Within the range, individual pay is determined by multiple factors like job-related skills, experience and work locations.
