About the role
As a Senior Demand Planner that supports our Special Events, you’ll be working closely with a variety of teams to ensure that our inventory is always stocked with the latest and greatest products. With your expertise in demand planning and inventory management, you’ll be responsible for forecasting future demand for our special events, new product launches, seasonal products and new arrivals. By analyzing customer demand and vendor performance, you’ll provide critical insights to help us optimize our inventory, reduce waste, and increase sales. Plus, as a part of a collaborative and dynamic team, you’ll work with other departments to review and refine our day to day tactics and strategies related to demand planning and inventory management. This is a critical role supporting high visibility projects so we are looking for an experienced Senior Demand Planner.
Responsibilities:
- Improve forecast accuracy for special events SKUs
- Partner with our engineering and data science teams to provide build and feedback on how to improve the forecast models for special events, one time buys, seasonal and trending SKUs
- Build for the future mindset
- Provide daily guidance and oversight to the special events and categories while working closely with cross-functional teams.
- This position will require cross-functional coordination across several groups, with an emphasis on partnering with Regional and Central Buyers, Replenishment, FP&A, and Business Managers.
- Partner with buyers, marketing & category managers, data scientists and financial analysts teams to drive accurate demand planning and identify growth initiatives based on robust forecast models.
- Identify and analyze demand forecast risks, and develop effective mitigation plans to ensure optimal inventory levels and customer satisfaction.
- Stay ahead of the curve by regularly planning and updating forecasts for new events, products, seasonal items, discounts, promotions & new regions.
- Analyze and troubleshoot demand-related issues in a timely and accurate manner, and maintain demand planning processes to continuously improve forecast accuracy.
- Assist in developing annual budgets and cost-effectiveness initiatives, and provide routine and ad-hoc demand related reports to management.
- Oversee and maintain optimal inventory levels in the warehouse through effective inventory planning, working with vendors to ensure optimal delivery performance.
- Build constructive and effective cross-functional relationships with a broad group of business partners
- Influence others by presenting ideas and directions that lead other team members to action.
- Forecast and track weekly, monthly, quarterly and yearly sales performance.
- Own the actuals vs forecast and goal performance analysis, drive identification of root causes and plan mitigation measures for gaps in performance.
- Share forecast assumptions and impact of strategic activities to forecast outcomes to broader organization and various stakeholders.
- Drive implementation of tools and techniques for continuous forecast accuracy improvement by analyzing large datasets, identifying trends, dependencies, correlations, and creating future outlooks based on that.
- Partner with cross-functional teams to impact inventory and event launch decisions.
- Partner with marketing and finance teams to impact and evaluate pricing and promotion strategy across the entire portfolio of products.
- Present outcomes at reviews with business leaders.
Key Qualifications:
- Minimum of Bachelor’s degree in business, supply chain, statistics, or other relevant fields.
- Master’s degree in business, supply chain, statistics, or other relevant fields preferred.
- A minimum of 5+ years of experience in demand, sales or business planning & analytics.
- Experience in working with AI or demand forecasting tools.
- Experience in inventory management practices and procedures.
- Experience with statistical forecasting methods and forecast accuracy metrics.
- Strong mathematical and statistical knowledge.
- High proficiency with SQL and Advanced Excel.
- Capability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- The ideal candidate will be passionate and demonstrated interest in data and technology, work well independently, be highly analytical and demonstrate the ability to clearly communicate highly complex topics to a broad audience

Compensation Range
- The US base salary range for this full-time position is $95,000 - $120,000
- This role may be eligible to discretionary bonus, incentives and benefits
- Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location
