About the role
The position will be working under the supervision of the Accounts Payable Manager to support the department in the efficient and accurate processing of accounts payable transactions along with having an active role in best practice solutions and providing leadership skills to the team.
Responsibilities
- Overseeing the day-to-day operations of the accounts payable department.
- Lead vendor account balances verification by reconciling monthly statements against the AP Aging Report.
- Maintain good relationships with vendors and internal stakeholders and respond to inquiries in a timely manner.
- Assist in misc. accounting tasks and ad-hoc reporting as needed.
- Responsible for verification of any changes around vendor updates (banking details, address, etc.);
- Validate incoming vendor invoices; to include 3-way matching, obtaining appropriate documentation, credit memos for discrepancies, and work closely with the merch team on price/quantity review(s) and tickets.
- Review and verify non-PO related invoices for accuracy.
- Assist with the weekly preparation for payment proposal(s).
- Maintain documented best practices, identify inefficiencies, and recommend changes for review by management.
- Maintaining compliance with company policies and accounting standards.
- Act as a main point of contact while working closely with the AP Manager to resolve AP related issues.
- Heavy focus on AP Aging Report reviews and reconciliations; ensuring aged payables are resolved, proper review and reconciliation processes are in place. To include, communication internally and externally along with assisting with write-offs.
- Compliance with statutory requirements; to include issuance of 1099s, collections of W-9 and W-8’s.
Qualifications
- 4+ years accounts payable experience
- College degree, preferably in accounting, finance or equivalent years of experience
- SAP experience preferred.
- Proficient skills with MS Excel and MS Word
- Attention to detail, organized, and high level of accuracy.
- Demonstrated ability to succeed in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial business.
- Proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking of both English and Mandarin Chinese is highly desired.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and mentor team members.
- Demonstrate strong customer service skills, critical thinker, and problem solver.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and procedures

Compensation Range
- The US hourly range for this full-time position is $29/hr - $34/hr
- This role may be eligible to discretionary bonus and benefits
- Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location
