The Tripadvisor Payments and Finance Engineering team is based in Oxford and Boston, and is responsible for the systems that power consumer and business payments, and financial reporting, across the Tripadvisor website and several other Tripadvisor brands. 

 

We’re looking for Software Engineers to join our dynamic team. We mainly work in a hybrid fashion, though fully remote in the UK may also be considered.

 

Within the team we have a fun and friendly environment where the key objective is getting things done. We work closely with customer-facing engineering teams and a variety of stakeholders, and our engineers are part of the full process from architecture and software design, to code, test and deployment. Most of our engineers release code to production every few days and we have an on demand deployment process.

 

What you'll do

  • mainly focussed on the complicated problems around backend payments processing 
  • some opportunities for frontend work too

 

Skills & Experience

  • You will need to have used a statically typed, object-oriented language such as Java, C# or C++
  • basic knowledge of SQL databases 
  • basic knowledge of web APIs (HTTP and REST)

 

Our stack includes Java, React, TypeScript and Postgres, and deep usage of AWS technologies such as ECS+Fargate, DynamoDB, SNS, and CDK.You don’t need to have experience with everything listed but you do need to be hungry to learn. What you can learn is more important than what you have done.
