We are looking for an experienced Accountant to join our team in a pivotal role, providing support across our Experiences & Vacation Rentals business units. This offers a great opportunity to work in a marketplace business, helping the team accomplish complex challenges with a speed wins approach.
The role is Oxford based and will report directly to the Senior Finance Manager, but will also involve developing close working relationships with cash operations, engineering and other parts of the business. This role is initially a 12 month fixed term contract, but there is a possibility of extension to this period, or a route to a permanent role depending on the business need closer to the time.
The ideal candidate will have experience of working in a busy and fast paced finance department, in a high volume transactional role, as well as strong core accounting skills in US GAAP/IFRS. Key skills will include good organizational and time management, strong analytical skills with an attention to detail, cross-functional team working and an ability to quickly gain an in-depth understanding of new accounting and cash management systems. A working knowledge of accounting principles is essential along with an excellent knowledge of Excel.
This position will have responsibility for supporting all parts of our accounting function, including leading on intercompany and month-end accounting for a subset of legal entities.
Monthly tasks involve bank reconciliations, managing the accounting of trade payables, accruals, subscription & pay-per-lead revenue accounting, and supporting the Senior Manager on our close reporting.
Other tasks including, but not limited to, balance sheet reconciliations, month-end variance analysis , analysis of the accounting flows behind bookings & deep-dive analysis of broader trends, quarterly reporting tasks, foreign exchange analysis, indirect tax exposure, liaising with external auditors, and preparation of statutory accounts.
We are currently looking for candidates who are qualified and successful candidates for this position will have the equivalent of 5+ years of professional experience with industry accounting experience.
Assisting in the preparation of month-end accounts to include posting of journal entries across REX entities extending, but not limited to, revenue, prepayments, accruals, ad hoc bank transactions, transfer pricing and foreign exchange.
