CANDIDATE DESCRIPTION:

This new role will help drive forward the global TripAdvisor sales organization, leading a global team of research & insights specialists tasked with finding the best, most compelling stories to support TripAdvisor’s sales efforts with top-tier marketing partners. This role will be responsible for synthesizing and delivering compelling insights and visualizations that drives investment, designing and delivering critical analytics around their marketing spends, conducting marketing effectiveness studies, developing traveler trend reports and managing custom research projects for TripAdvisor and our premiere clients. This role will be based in New York City.

WHAT YOU’LL DO:

  • Develop workflow for the team to respond quickly and accurately to research requests from the global sales team using syndicated data tools along with TripAdvisor’s own in-house user measurement tools
  • Lead consultative, client-facing insights conversations, creating new ways of measuring results, identifying opportunities & illustrating how & why they should grow their investment more with us
  • Prove the value of TripAdvisor to clients by distilling complex findings into simple and compelling, action-oriented stories for sales to use in QBRs & other analytics discussions with senior stakeholders worldwide
  • Grow and manage your team of specialists dedicated to driving the business forward via actionable insights, looking for the best ways to support and guide sales into larger client relationships
  • Evangelize TripAdvisor’s product offering through training sales, educating partners, producing case studies and speaking on behalf of the company at key conferences
  • Develop an always- on research database of updated sales research materials highlighting key facts, figures & insights from both syndicated and internal sources 
  • Drive thought leadership around new ways TripAdvisor’s extensive data can be used to further strengthen client relationships and grow revenue
  • Inform the global team on the latest industry & market trends with regular cadence
  • Partner with other internal teams (i.e. brand, consumer research, PR) on larger research initiatives such as content insights, trend reports, and general thought leadership
  • Proactively bring new ideas and ways TripAdvisor’s extensive data can be used to further strengthen client relationships, prove ROI and drive revenue renewal 
  • Maintain relevant vendor relationships to find ways to further enhance the TripAdvisor sales offering via platform & capabilities partnerships 

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Strong analytical skills and adept at problem solving through data storytelling
  • 10+ years of experience leading working with director level leaders in the development of actionable, client-facing insights and business intelligence to prove returns on marketing investment and make long-term strategic growth recommendations
  • Strong background in driving sales in a global context through actionably storytelling,with teams supported  in different time zones
  • Strong background in quantitative research and/or analytics at a digital marketing platform, agency/publisher setting
  • Significant experience in creating compelling, actionable visualizations of both quantitative and qualitative data and presenting to senior clients
  • MBA or Master’s degree in research or analytics preferred but not required
  • Excellent spoken/written English, with a strong working knowledge of other major languages also preferred
  • Experience with PowerPoint, Google Slides, KeyNote and Excel 
  • Travel industry experience or other related field preferred 
  • Experience with SQL a strong plus but not required
  • Passionate about travel & working in a dynamic, highly collaborative cross departmental fast paced environment that requires flexibility and the ability to manage multiple priorities on an international team
  • Highly intellectually curious with a drive for constant reinvention and innovation
  • Adept at influencing decisions of those around you through data storytelling
  • Keenly attentive to detail, task-driven with the ability to produce key deliverables and hit important deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Motivated to understand the latest ideas and methodologies in digital marketing analytics
  • A highly motivated self-starter capable of moving multiple projects forward independently with both your team & stakeholders located remotely 
  • Experienced in managing a team in a digital environment at an agency, client, or publisher
  • Always on the lookout for the latest information, developments and market news to share with your team, peers, and more widely
  • Able to learn new ideas and methods quickly, always discovering new and better ways of surfacing insights to your stakeholders and clients
