The Senior Manager, Yield Strategy drives profitable growth in TripAdvisor’s $1B+ Hotels business unit by building, owning, and optimizing our Yield Management and Enterprise Deal Pursuit capabilities. The role reports to the Director, Business Operations and works closely with stakeholders in Sales, Product, Marketing and Operations.

What you'll do:

  • Develop and operationalize best-in-Class quantitative Yield Management to support TripAdvisor’s Display Advertising business line
    • Define, develop, implement, and lead yield management in TripAdvisor’s Display business, by optimizing pricing and advertising inventory via enhanced intelligence and controls
    • Implement improved intelligence and controls for pricing and inventory management in TripAdvisor’s Display Advertising business
    • Define the roadmap for continuous improvement in advertising yield management, including dynamic pricing that is responsive to real-time inventory and demand forecasts
    • Partner closely with stakeholders in Product, Sales, Operations, and Business Ops
  • Build a Leading Deal Pursuit & Optimization Function
    • Establish evaluation criteria, profitability and pricing models, and approval frameworks for TripAdvisor partnerships with hotel brands of all sizes and locations
    • Evangelize transparent inventory/sell-through forecasts that are easily read by sales and management team - and translate them into actionable go-to-market insights
    • Recommend short and long-term inventory strategy to Senior Management
    • Make pricing and discount recommendations based on sell-through, product / targeting mix, and performance
    • Automate deal strategies working closely with the Programmatic and Ad Operations teams to generate the optimal yield for TripAdvisor properties, rate setting/approval, ad stack optimization, delivery prioritization, and ad tech developments

What you bring to the team

The Senior Manager, Yield Strategy is creative, analytical, and detail-oriented.  He or she will be a positive and solution-oriented partner for stakeholders across the Hotel business unit.

  • 10-12 years’ professional experience; MBA or equivalent experience preferred
  • Educational and/or deep professional background in quantitative analysis – expert in asking the right question and answering it with data
  • Experience in an analytically-oriented Media sales and / or Ad Operations role
  • Demonstrated success managing complex business processes in a high-growth environment
  • Demonstrated success building repeatable processes across multiple teams
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment that rewards a creative, hands-on approach
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and global stakeholders; strong organizational skills
  • Excellent hands-on analytical skills - generating insights with BI tools (Tableau); extracting business insights from data using Excel, SQL, etc.
  • Expert consumer of analytical tools and statistical models, with ability to translate into business and go-to-market strategies
