Tide is rapidly growing, expanding into new markets and always looking for passionate and driven people. Join us in our mission to empower small businesses and help them save time and money.

About the team:

As part of the Cloud Engineering team, you will be helping to run, maintain and evolve the core infrastructure platform that supports Tide’s global businesses. You will engage in activities that proactively find and fix problems with our non-production and production platforms as well as perform reactive and scheduled maintenance, like certificate management.

You will work closely with our engineering teams to make sure our platform is available and accessible to them and with our Information Security team to ensure we meet and exceed our regulatory obligations.

We are committed to a 100% Infrastructure-as-Code approach to infrastructure builds using Terraform and currently deploy exclusively to AWS. You will assist the rest of the Cloud teams in deploying new components using Terraform and identifying and removing redundant infrastructure and components.

About the role:

As a Cloud Operations Engineer you’ll be:

  • Working as part of a larger Cloud Engineering team, comprising Cloud Operations (your team), Developer Experience, Cloud Infrastructure and Cloud Data Engineering.
  • Writing Terraform to make sure any new platform components you create are controlled by IaC.
  • Working collaboratively alongside other Cloud Engineers to define and implement best practices.
  • Providing software engineers with access to and data from the platform where they don’t currently have tools to support their needs.
  • Supporting major upgrades to running infrastructure.
  • Performing regular maintenance and updates.
  • Creating operational run books and how-tos.
  • Being open to learning from your peers
  • Resolving issues raised by our Information Security team

What we are looking for:

  • Having over five years of experience in a DevOps Engineering type role.
  • You consider yourself an experienced AWS professional with at least three years of AWS experience.
  • Experience with working with cloud hosted relational databases (ideally PostgreSQL and MySQL)
  • Some understanding of cloud native architectures and core components (containers, Lambdas, queues, event buses etc).
  • You have hands-on experience with Kubernetes, Terraform and Python.
  • Having an understanding of the GitOps pattern and some experience in related technologies - ideally ArgoCD
  • Enjoy working directly with the engineers
  • Enjoy an environment where everyone’s ideas are heard and considered.
  • Happy to work in a highly regulated and security-conscious industry.

Our Tech Stack:

AWS, Kubernetes, Terraform, Python & ArgoCD
