About the role

At Texthelp, we know that the key to growth is in a high-performing sales team. That’s why we’re seeking a Junior Sales Development Representative (SDR) to find and screen potential customers who can benefit from our products and services. 

Our SDR team is growing and as the first line of communication with prospects, SDRs have a strong understanding of the sales process. They excel at researching leads, starting new relationships, and setting our sales closers up for success. You should be a quick learner with the ability to showcase our offerings in a compelling way. 

Every potential customer is an opportunity for you to boost top-line revenue growth, customer acquisition levels, and profitability. The Sales Development Representative leads proactive outbound prospecting, inbound lead qualification and converts marketing qualified leads (MQLs) to sales qualified leads (SQLs), screening their true intention to buy, to help build a strong sales pipeline.  

This exciting role may involve dealing with both UK and international prospects in the EMEA region.

Main Responsibilities

  • Ensure the acquisition/business development sales teams have quality appointments by making outbound calls to qualified leads
  • Conduct/perform prospecting activities including making cold calls, sending emails, delivering on social strategies, etc
  • Manage all business-related activities at the forefront of the sales process on Marketing Qualified Leads (MQLs)
  • Qualify, nurture, manage and convert MQLs to Sales Qualified Leads (SQLs) using a systematic process developed through collaboration with sales and marketing leaders
  • Perform qualification process on both MQLs and outbound outreach leads from cold calling
  • Explain Texthelp products to prospects including inbound marketing leads and outbound prospecting leads from cold calling
  • Perform sales presentations over the phone, web and in-person as needed
  • Produce creative strategies for targeting decision-makers at prospect accounts in order to book sales appointments and influence company revenue
  • Make effective use of CRM to track, assign, and qualify leads
  • Maintain pipeline of prospects via Outreach Sales Enablement platform and achieve agreed targets of booked meetings for acquisition team
  • Research and build database of contacts
  • Accurately update and maintain internal records and systems
  • Ensure the start of the customer journey reflects our business in a positive light
  • Generate reports as required to track business metrics

Essential Criteria

  • 1+ years Relevant sales experience (cold calling, lead nurturing, lead qualification)
  • IT skills with experience using Google Suite or Microsoft Office including Sheets or Excel

Desirable Criteria

  • Ability to prospect and generate leads through cold calls, emails, and social strategies
  • Proven record of consistently meeting assigned target goals and delivering outstanding
  • Experience with outbound and inbound sales processes (MQL to SQL conversion)
  • Strong verbal and written communication to explain products and handle sales presentations
  • Experience using CRM systems and sales enablement platforms.
  • Experience delivering online demonstrations
  • Keen to learn and comfortable in an agile environment
  • Excels in balancing multiple projects simultaneously and efficiently allocates time and resources to meet deadlines
  • Educational technology product and education business understanding
  • Experience using Outreach Sales Enablement platform
  • Proven experience of leveraging social media platforms and developing an established network to build personal and company brand in a B2B environment (e.g. LinkedIn, Twitter)
