About the role

The Texthelp AsiaPac division, based out of our Brisbane office in Australia, is a small, highly engaged team. We're looking for an experienced Business Development Manager to be part of this team committed to improving the education attainment of all students in Australia. You will be expected to engage with a range of K12 and Post Secondary professionals.

This is an exciting opportunity for an ambitious sales manager to acquire new customers, contribute to our business growth and be part of our ambition to double the number of students whose educational attainment and lives will be improved through the use of our products.

We are seeking a results-focused and forward thinking individual with a can-do attitude; confident in engaging actively with a range of internal and external stakeholders to help achieve the AsiaPac division’s strategic goals. Requiring someone who is truly passionate about sales and market share growth.

Main Responsibilities

  • Achieve quota targets on a monthly, quarterly and yearly basis
  • Identifying, developing and qualifying new business opportunities within the Australian education sector - including Departments of Education, Catholic Schools, Independent Schools, Universities and TAFEs.
  • Develop and maintain expert knowledge of products. Confidence and competence to demonstrate each program within the Texthelp educational technology product suite. Both online and in-person to individual prospects and in large group presentations, at all organisational levels.
    Maintain and prioritise your workload to move opportunities through the pipe with high velocity
  • Manage pipeline to required pipeline metrics and reporting requirements including
    • Follow up on MQLs and all leads within a maximum 24-business hour time window
    • Forecast accuracy: Maintain an accurate forecast with weekly reviews
    • Build pipeline coverage as a minimum in line with quarterly pipeline coverage targets
    • Provide weekly, monthly and quarterly reporting for your line manager and the senior management as required   
  • For newly won customers, follow the hand-over process to the Customer Success team to ensure the highest levels of customer satisfaction
  • Engage with marketing and product initiatives, using companywide resources to optimise successful engagement with new opportunities
  • Preparing quotations and proposals to secure new business
  • Updating Texthelp’s CRM to provide full visibility of all sales activities undertaken
  • Participation as required in events and exhibitions to strengthen customer and prospect relationships
  • Establish and maintain key Education Department & Catholic Diocese relationships.
  • Generation of reports as required to track business metrics and pipeline

  • Productivity metrics including volume of customer contacts, timing of lead follow up and win : loss ratio

Essential Criteria

  • 3+ years of experience in EdTech sales, with a proven track record of acquiring new customers and consistently hitting sales targets
  • Detailed knowledge and experience of the Australian K12 and Higher Education Market
  • Experience in development and progress of the sales process from initial prospecting through to closed sale
  • Proven record of delivering outstanding customer sales experience to clients - particularly via remote and digital channels
  • Exceptional presentation and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent networking and communication skills with the ability to converse at all levels of an organisation
  • Ability to travel as and when/if required
  • Ability to join after-hours web-based meetings with UK Head Office team members as required
  • Current Australian Drivers licence

Desirable Criteria 

  • Exposure to the full sales cycle within the Australian education sector
  • Experience operating in an SaaS sales environment
  • Proficient in the use of CRM systems
