About the Pricing Team:
We are the engine behind the business working side by side with reserving, underwriting & counter fraud. But we also collaborate with data engineering, machine learning, marketing and wider tech teams to underpin the company's growth and footprint.

As I’m sure that you are aware, data is key, that’s why we ingest huge amounts of it from various third parties. This gives us a crystal-clear picture of our customers, leading to a best-in-class loss ratio keeping us one step ahead of the market.
Your day to day:
This role will lead our Retail Pricing for Home. You’ll lead day-to-day analysis, modelling, and development of pricing recommendations alongside BAU analytics. You’ll own and deliver projects that continually improve the predictive power and segmentation of statistical models of claims and demand
- Create, validate, reconcile, and transform datasets for analysis and modelling.
- Achieve budget objectives
- Undertake analysis and modelling by writing and manipulating code.
- Support in the creation, maintenance and deployment of rating models that predict claims cost, conversion, or retention.
- Contribute to the specification, development, and testing cycles for deployment of rates.
- Consider the impact on customers of pricing actions and act to avoid any unfair treatment.
- Assist in producing and developing appropriate monitoring for the Pricing team and other stakeholders.
- Provide technical Underwriting and Pricing support to assist the business in achieving its plans.
- Build strong relationships with managers, peers, and stakeholders.
Who are you:
- 5+ years pricing experience in an insurer environment (preference in uk motor/home).
- 2:1 degree in numerical discipline e.g. Maths, Physics, Econometrics.
- Trained in WTW RADAR software.
- Experience with data manipulation skills using SQL/Python/R/WPS or similar.
- Experience of rating update processes, performance and impact monitoring.
- Experience of retail price optimisation
