In The Pocket is seeking an experienced Accounting Officer for the finance team. This position will be based either in BE, RO or PT, and the successful candidate will handle the bookkeeping for all our European entities. We are opening the job vacancy for a 4/5 position with the opportunity to transition to full-time later on.

What you’ll do:

Accountancy & Tax Compliance

Handle all day-to-day accountancy operations for all European entities in local GAAP. (currently largest entity BE- in BE GAAP).
Handle monthly and quarterly accountancy closing.
Assist with the compliance of accountancy and tax regulations.
Collaborate with our local accountancy-tax & audit partners.
Conduct routine accountancy tasks meticulously and efficiently.
Supporting external audits and preparing audit files.

Reporting:

Support the in drafting the annual reports and other financial documents
Assist in preparing financial reports and supporting the group accountant in consolidation reporting and intragroup recharges.

Treasury & Operations:

Monitoring accounts payable and preparation of payment files.
Support in the monthly AP-cycle and monitoring of our accounts receivable.

Who you are:

Degree in accountancy or a related field.
Preferably 2-3 years experience in accounting.
Basic understanding of general accounting principles and methods.
Strong attention to detail and an emphasis on accuracy.
Quick learner with the ability to adapt to new accounting methods.
Proficiency with accounting tools and software (hands-on experience with Exact Online, Silverfin, GDS is a plus)
Structured work approach and strong organizational skills.
Capable of working in a time-sensitive environment and handling multiple tasks
Strong personal integrity and reliability.
Being fluent in English is essential. Knowledge of other European languages is a plus
