The Associate Counsel will provide support to the SVP, General Counsel and members of the company’s internal legal team on various legal initiatives for the company with a primary focus on drafting and negotiating domestic and international contracts to support the company’ global logistics function and assisting with various compliance matters. This position will report to Senior Counsel.
Draft, review, and negotiate a variety of domestic and international commercial agreements essential for global logistics operations such as shipping, warehousing, logistics, and supply chain related agreements.
Partner cross-functionally with global logistics and other departments within the company in the review of contracts to adequately protect the company's interests and mitigate risk.
Manage and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, including providing legal assistance with audit, regulatory, and compliance initiatives.
Research and analyze industry-specific regulations to assist in implementation of compliance measures.
Provide support to the Senior Counsel to develop and improve standard contractual documents, templates, policies and procedures.
Conduct legal research and provide legal advice on key issues affecting the company.
Perform other related duties as required and assigned.

Licensed to practice law in California
Strong writing and communication skills

Knowledge of Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
Requires 3 to 5 years of proven legal experience, both in law firm and in-house. Experience in the transportation and logistics industries preferred, but not required. Experience with online retail industry a plus.
