What You Will Be Doing:

We are looking for an experienced Lead Scientist to guide our Advanced Concepts projects. This is an exciting opportunity to collaborate with teams of scientists and engineers to deliver Helion’s next-generation fusion devices and technologies. You will report directly to our Research and Development Chief of Staff at our Everett, WA office. 

You Will:

  • Define and lead critical path technology development that is aligned with our technical goals

  • Manage a portfolio of cutting-edge internal and external projects aimed at mitigating risks through technology development

  • Work in direct collaboration with the Office of the CEO and other technical leaders to define project goals and deliverables

  • Perform high-level project management including scheduling, coordination, and quality standards

  • Communicate concise scientific and engineering information to optimize performance and help prepare regular progress reports

Required Skills:

  • Experience working on ill-defined problems and turning them into well-defined solutions

  • Experience recognizing and understanding the big picture with the ability to dive into the smallest of details

  • Excel in coordinating diverse programs

  • PhD in Plasma Physics or related field

  • 10+ years’ experience with R&D, early-stage, or prototype (pre-commercial) development work

The pay range for this position is $135k-190k. This pay range may be inclusive of several career levels and will be narrowed based on several factors, including the candidate’s experience and qualifications.
