What You Will Be Doing:
We are looking for an experienced Lead Scientist to guide our Advanced Concepts projects. This is an exciting opportunity to collaborate with teams of scientists and engineers to deliver Helion’s next-generation fusion devices and technologies. You will report directly to our Research and Development Chief of Staff at our Everett, WA office.
You Will:

Define and lead critical path technology development that is aligned with our technical goals

Manage a portfolio of cutting-edge internal and external projects aimed at mitigating risks through technology development

Work in direct collaboration with the Office of the CEO and other technical leaders to define project goals and deliverables

Perform high-level project management including scheduling, coordination, and quality standards

Communicate concise scientific and engineering information to optimize performance and help prepare regular progress reports
Required Skills:

Experience working on ill-defined problems and turning them into well-defined solutions

Experience recognizing and understanding the big picture with the ability to dive into the smallest of details

Excel in coordinating diverse programs

PhD in Plasma Physics or related field

10+ years’ experience with R&D, early-stage, or prototype (pre-commercial) development work
The pay range for this position is $135k-190k. This pay range may be inclusive of several career levels and will be narrowed based on several factors, including the candidate’s experience and qualifications.
