THE OPPORTUNITY

We are hiring an Senior Backend Software Engineer to join our New Ventures Focus Area, Wellz team in Brazil. 
At Wellz, we are developing scalable solutions that make Wellz more productive, assuring user-friendly, data-driven, and confident products for efficient and measurable work in the business areas.
This position offers the unique opportunity to collaborate with teams responsible for the main flows inside Wellz products, like Booking, payments, and assessments.

YOUR IMPACT

  • Ensure successful delivery of projects, and promote the long-term technical health of our services;
  • Design, develop, test, deploy, maintain and improve services focusing on performance, scalability, and stability;
  • Build Integration with 3rd party API and tools;
  • Manage project priorities, deadlines, and deliverables;
  • Bring expertise in architecture and design process;
  • Support existing systems looking to enhance functionality, increase scale, and transform in new ways to meet our product demands;
  • Meet with the business and product team to review the design of the product;
  • Create new services/products and capabilities to meet emerging needs as our business grows

WHO YOU ARE

  • You are proficient in Java, Scala, Python, Ruby, NodeJS, or Go; also experienced with JavaScript, HTML5, CSS/SASS. 
  • You have experience developing complex modern service applications.  You create applications that deliver an exceptional user experience.   
  • You understand various web and back-end paradigms like single-page apps and microservices.   
  • You apply object-oriented design and create RESTful web services.   
  • You can build scalable and maintainable architectures with clean, readable code. 
  • You can work with product and design teams to create responsive and intuitive web experiences. 
  • You collaborate with peers to achieve significant goals and foster teamwork.   
  • You have experience participating in agile development and quick prototyping to see your work in action.   
  • You can manage data from conception to analysis within a data-driven team.  
  • You utilize computer science fundamentals, such as data structures and algorithm design.   
  • You have experience with SQL/NoSQL technologies (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL).  
  • Knowledgeable in software design approaches and UX patterns; able to weigh front-end libraries' risks and benefits.   
  • You are an excellent communicator in both English and Portuguese, both verbally and in writing.
  • Willingness to mentor junior engineers;
  • Full-stack experience and knowledge of large-scale web application architecture are pluses.
