About the Role: 

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Manager, GL Accounting to oversee our General Ledger (GL) function. This position will play a key role in ensuring accurate financial reporting, maintaining compliance with accounting standards, and supporting key financial processes. You’ll have strong collaboration with FP&A and partner closely with HR, Sales, and Payroll teams. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of accounting principles, with specific expertise in ASC 842 (Leases), ASC 340 (Other Assets and Deferred Costs), and managing payroll liabilities. Proficiency in NetSuite and FloQast is essential, as these tools will be integral to the role. 

Scope of Responsibilities:

  • General Ledger Management:
    • Oversee the accuracy and completeness of the GL, ensuring timely and accurate month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes.
    • Review and approve journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial reports.
    • Ensure proper classification and recording of transactions in accordance with GAAP.
    • Utilize NetSuite for all GL-related activities, ensuring optimal use of the system's functionalities.
  • Financial Close Review:
    • Lead and manage the financial close process, ensuring all deadlines are met and that financial data is accurate and complete.
    • Collaborate closely with FP&A to provide detailed financial analyses, supporting the preparation of forecasts and budgets.
    • Ensure that financial statements are prepared in compliance with GAAP and reflect an accurate picture of the company’s financial position.
  • ASC 842 Compliance:
    • Lead the implementation and ongoing management of lease accounting under ASC 842.
    • Review and validate lease contracts, ensuring accurate recording of lease assets and liabilities.
    • Prepare and maintain lease schedules, including right-of-use assets, lease liabilities, and related disclosures.
  • ASC 340 (Other Assets and Deferred Costs):
    • Manage accounting for prepaid expenses, deferred costs, and other assets.
    • Ensure proper amortization and recognition of deferred costs in compliance with ASC 340.
    • Perform regular reviews of deferred cost balances and provide detailed analyses and reports.
  • Payroll Liabilities:
    • Oversee the accounting and reconciliation of payroll liabilities, including taxes, benefits, and other withholdings.
    • Collaborate with the Payroll team to ensure accurate and timely processing of payroll transactions.
    • Monitor and report on payroll-related accruals and liabilities, ensuring proper documentation and compliance.
  • Cross-Functional Partnership:
    • Foster strong relationships with key cross-functional partners, including HR, Sales, FP&A, and Payroll teams.
    • Collaborate with these teams to ensure alignment on financial processes, accounting policies, and reporting requirements.
    • Provide financial insights and support to cross-functional initiatives and projects.
  • Financial Reporting:
    • Prepare and review financial statements and reports, ensuring accuracy and compliance with GAAP.
    • Assist with the preparation of external audit documentation and support audit processes.
    • Provide detailed variance analyses and explanations for management review.
    • Leverage FloQast to enhance the efficiency and accuracy of the financial close and reporting processes.
  • Process Improvement:
    • Identify opportunities to enhance accounting processes and internal controls.
    • Lead or participate in system upgrades, implementations, and other projects to improve efficiency and accuracy in the accounting function.
    • Develop and implement best practices for GL and related accounting processes.
  • Team Leadership:
    • Supervise and mentor a team of accounting professionals, providing guidance and fostering a collaborative work environment.
    • Conduct performance reviews, set goals, and provide ongoing feedback and development opportunities for team members.

Role Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA preferred.
  • 5+ years of experience in accounting, with a focus on General Ledger management.
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP, including ASC 842 and ASC 340.
  • Experience with payroll accounting and managing payroll liabilities.
  • Proficiency in NetSuite and FloQast is required.
  • Advanced Excel skills.
  • Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and leadership skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Compensation: 

At Fetch, we offer competitive compensation packages to the exceptional folks we hire. The base salary range for this position is $140,000 - $180,000. We also offer all employees equity in Fetch, so that everyone can benefit from Fetch’s growth.
