The Regional Director for North Cone will be responsible for driving growth and diversification in Mexico, Central America and Caribbean, by leading strategic business initiatives from development through execution, as well as by being the focal point to our key partners in the market, such as acquirers. This role requires thriving in a fast-paced startup environment and the ability to think strategically and analytically about business, product, and technical challenges. The ideal candidate will build compelling value propositions and work cross-functionally, leading a team of country managers based on the most relevant countries of the region. This is a Director position and you will report to the CFO.

Besides conquering the world, your Key Responsibilities will be:

Relationship Management:

  • Act as a liaison between EBANX's global teams and local stakeholders, such as acquirers and PSPs.
  • Foster strong partnerships to support business objectives and develop new local partnerships, guaranteeing the Company has a solid redundancy in its payment rails.
  • Participate in key events to enhance brand awareness and strengthen the company's position in the local ecosystem.

Business Growth and Diversification:

  • Identify, pursue, and execute growth opportunities in the North Cone market.
  • Lead strategic negotiations and act as a liaison between EBANX and local partners/acquirers.
  • Achieve profit targets by segment for new sales and upgrades, mainly by guaranteeing that the Company has a solid set of partners with competitive cost and high level of performance.
  • Develop and lead promotional initiatives leveraging local payment methods.
  • Devise and execute activation strategies to decrease gross profit concentration at the country level.
  • Expand the merchant base, forge partnerships, and explore new business channels.
  • Represent EBANX at regional events and develop local partnerships with acquirers, banks, government agencies, and shareholders.

Market Expertise:

  • Conduct market analysis to understand local dynamics, competition, customer preferences, and trends.
  • Provide market insights to help move deals through the pipeline and generate new opportunities.
  • Help create unique selling propositions and auxiliary collaterals to reinforce EBANX's value proposition.
  • Gather and provide valuable insights to support informed business decisions.

What's mandatory:

  • Native Spanish, fluent in English.
  • To be based in Mexico City.
  • Solid background in the CNP acquiring, payment and eCommerce industries.
  • Experience working in project groups in the financial/payments sector.
  • Market expert in online payments and x-border industry.
  • Proven skills in negotiation.
  • Extensive experience in account management processes in a professional and complex environment.
  • Results-driven, self-motivated, and comfortable operating in a rapidly changing environment.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Strategic and creative thinking about complex issues, leading to thoughtful recommendations and action plans.
  • Data-driven mindset with strong analytical skills to interpret data, identify problems, and provide constructive solutions.
