We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced LATAM Legal Specialist to join our legal team. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in ensuring legal compliance, managing commercial contracts, and supporting EBANX's business operations. This position requires in-depth knowledge of commercial law, contract negotiation, risk management, and international business transactions. The LATAM Legal Specialist will collaborate closely with internal stakeholders, provide legal advice, and contribute to the achievement of EBANX's strategic objectives. You will also be responsible for:
- Review, draft, and negotiate a wide range of Latam commercial contracts, including client agreements, partnership agreements, and vendor contracts.
- Provide legal advice and guidance to internal departments on contractual matters, ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
- Conduct legal research to stay updated on relevant laws, regulations, and industry best practices.
- Identify potential legal risks and develop strategies to mitigate them, protecting EBANX's interests and reputation.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, such as Sales, Finance, and Operations, to support business initiatives and ensure legal compliance.
- Liaise with external legal counsel, as necessary, to handle complex legal issues or specialized matters.
- Support the development and implementation of company policies, procedures, and guidelines related to commercial contracts.
- Stay informed about industry trends and developments that may impact EBANX's contractual relationships.
- Participate in contract negotiations, representing EBANX's interests and securing favorable terms.
- Provide training and guidance to internal team members.
Main requirements for this position:
- Law degree; additional certifications or advanced degrees are a plus.
- Experience practicing commercial law, preferably with a focus on contractual matters.
- Strong knowledge of commercial law, contract drafting, negotiation, and risk management.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to assess complex legal issues and provide practical solutions.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Fluency in Spanish, Portuguese and English are required; proficiency in additional languages is a plus.
- Admitted to the bar and licensed to practice law in the relevant jurisdiction.
