POSITION SUMMARY
The UX Research team is part of the Research & Design team at Earnin. We help inform product leadership direction and decisions by leading our efforts to identify opportunities to serve our customers’ financial needs. The team also supports all connections and conversations with our customers and builds a culture of being human-centered and connecting all employees to customers and research. You will have the opportunity to think strategically about the product, business, and UI/UX, and help define what User Research looks like for our organization.
This position will be ideally hybrid from our Mexico City office as part of our expanding site location. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Recruit, hire, and mentor an amazing UX Researchers and Designers team.
- Develop and implement a comprehensive UX research strategy that aligns with the organization’s goals and objectives.
- Manage our small but mighty team of experienced quality and quant UX researchers.
- Design and run a comprehensive research service for the Product organization. A service that aligns research insights with the development or refinement of products to deliver great experiences for customers and results for EarnIn.
- Collaborate with stakeholders, including product management, design, engineering, marketing, and analytics teams as an expert in Earnin’s customers and their needs.
- Demonstrate a strong understanding of the strengths and weaknesses of different research methods, including when and how to apply them during each product phase.
- Influence stakeholders in a cross-functional environment to gain support and increase aligned action on research-based, user-centric solutions.
- Mentor and drive career development for both quantitative and qualitative researchers.
- Build out the research function’s impact, ensuring it is essential to the product/design development lifecycle across a multi-product portfolio.
- Drive initiatives and rituals that grow research excellence and strategic thinking within the team, including providing feedback, evaluating new tools, and contributing to long-term staffing plans.
- Collaborate with other insight-generating teams (e.g., data analytics, CX, etc.) to leverage insights and meet business goals.
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
- Minimum 6 years experience as a User Researcher, and 2 or more years of experience as a manager
- Experience working with a variety of cross-functional peers and stakeholders (e.g., product managers, data scientists, designers, engineers, policy, communications, marketing)
- Experience building and setting research strategy that connects with business strategy
- Ability to balance creativity, the needs of the business, and what is best for our users and community
- You are extraordinarily skilled in both written and spoken communication with a proven ability to influence company decisions
- Experience combining qualitative and quantitative research methodologies
- Experience leading research projects that have had a lasting impact on product and design decisions.
