Your Role:

The National Channel Sales Engineer (SE) is a professional engineer who works with our national channel partner(s) CDW, SHI, and Insight, and customers nationwide to recommend pre-sales designs and post-sales deployments. The National Channel SE will manage our national partner(s) and assist in training the internal pre-sales engineers as needed. Ultimately, the CSE serves as a consultant and is viewed as an expert in their field by the account team and customers.  This channel sales engineer should be located in either Chicago, Ill, or Austin, TX, or Phoenix, AZ, area(s) and will travel up to 75%. 

Your Opportunity:

  • Perform product demonstrations and presentations at partner and customer sites, company road shows, and events as needed
  • Provide pre-sale support to partner SEs/Architects and customers on sales engagements and qualification of Tenable product value/ technical fit
  • Refine and research technical requirements of each sales opportunity by working closely with customers in the design and implementation of Tenable products. 
  • Act as an interface between the Sales organization and National Partner technical staff to resolve outstanding issues
  • Provide training as needed to assigned National channel partners, including Hands-On Bootcamps, monthly webinars, and Product updates.
  • Maintain Tenable Guardians at all National Partners
  • Assist in installation and troubleshooting where necessary 
  • Promote new and innovative approaches to addressing business challenges and problems 
  • Install and maintain Product labs at National Partners
  • Provide and articulate documentation about the work, including project scope, onsite activities, open issues, and next steps
  • Must be able to follow up and document engagements 
  • Travel to National partner offices and customers throughout North America with travel as much as 75% of the time 
  • Perform other duties and projects as assigned

What You'll Need:

  • A bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field
  • At least 2 years recent experience working with CDW or SHI or Insight and a solid understanding of their technical organizations
    4-5 years experience supporting channel partners and externally facing customers
  • Industry certifications 
  • Strong knowledge of cloud computing platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud
  • Experience in designing, developing, and managing cloud-based infrastructure and applications
  • Knowledge of other cloud computing solutions and integrations
  • General understanding of the competitive cloud landscape
  • Advanced understanding of internetworking, including new products and solutions 
  • Excellent knowledge of security solutions and technologies, including; Internet security, firewall technologies, network technologies, data loss prevention solutions, wireless security 
  • Proven track record of proactively creating and maintaining solid relationships with CDW or SHI or Insight
  • Strong ability to assess customer requirements and a proper solution design 
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to set and manage expectations with senior stakeholders and team members 
  • Demonstrated ability to make and take responsibility for decisions on technical issues 
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to present to various external audiences and articulate the business benefits and technical advantages of Websense products and solutions, including communication with the executive level
  • Team-focused, with the ability to gain the personal support of others
  • Disciplined, organized, and methodical in approach to tasks and activities 
  • Excellent problem-solving skills 

And Ideally:

  • The ideal candidate will have a proven track record working with Channel partners and a solid understanding of Channel practices
  • The ideal candidate would have experience working as a Channel Sales Engineer(s) and Marketing Engineer(s)
  • The ideal candidate has worked for at least three years in a large, multifaceted Reseller company

This is the base pay range for this position. Compensation for the role will depend on a number of factors, including the candidate's qualifications, skills, competencies, location and experience, and may fall outside of the range shown. Employees are also eligible for variable compensation in addition to base pay (commission for sales roles, bonus for non-sales roles), depending on company and individual performance.
