The Job at a Glance 

As a Soda Health Senior Full-Stack Engineer you'll design, implement, and refine exciting, innovative digital products. Your direct work will be put into the hands of everyday people. Your designs and solutions will improve lives by making benefits more understandable and accessible for people in need. 

What You’ll Do 

Working within an organization created at the intersection of health care, retail and financial technology, no two days will look the same.  Typical responsibilities of the role include:  

  • Work on exciting, innovative features powered by your creative ideas
  • As part of a capable, nimble, high-performing engineering staff
  • Efficient weekly ceremonies that respect engineering time-to-build
  • Learning from those around you, and taking opportunities to build expertise in the systems you work on
  • Participating in a healthy production culture (including sane, balanced on-call)
  • Delivering features safely to production via continuous delivery during working hours
  • Help to make everyone's time at Soda Health the highlight of their career 

About You 

While every candidate brings a unique resume and prospective, an ideal candidate will include:  

  • 5+ years software engineering experience
  • Practiced ability to present and demo your work so others can understand
  • A strong command of typed languages (Golang or similar)
  • Familiarity with container technology (Docker or similar)
  • Solid data structure fundamentals using standard DB technologies (Postgres or similar)
  • Know-how with live site support, effective logging, building dashboards & monitors (elastic.co or similar)
  • Confidence and ability to provide supportive and critical feedback in PR reviews to make the code better for everyone
  • Enthusiasm for writing efficient tests that produce tight feedback loops
  • Desire to take ownership and be autonomous but still collaborative
  • Passion to solve problems for real, everyday people
  • Bachelor’s degree or similar experience strongly preferred   

Other Requirements 

  • Occasional travel may be required from time to time as part of the role, for company events and business needs.  
  • Soda Health is a remote-first, distributed workforce. Candidates should be comfortable with, and equipped to work within, a distributed remote team, including having reliable internet access and basic home office equipment. Soda Health will provide a really nice work laptop, and mouse/keyboard upon request.
