The Think Tank Team is an interdisciplinary collective of researchers, designers, scientists and engineers located in Mountain View, CA. Our mandate is to explore what’s next for Samsung through a unique mix of creativity, research, and early product development. We have a strong track record of driving concepts to production. Position Summary

The Think Tank Team is seeking outstanding practitioners of strategy and product management who have a proven track-record of applying their work to real-world situations. We value creativity, curiosity, and persistence as well as solid technical and strategic skills.

 

As a member of TTT, you will directly influence product related discussions, working with multidisciplinary team of designers, engineers, and researchers. You will support the team’s creativity with rapid market research in emerging technology areas, and by creating easy-to-consume deliverables for the team and for Samsung leadership. Most importantly, you will directly participate in and inspire new innovation areas, and refine and deliver innovative concepts based on user and market needs for the growth of all of Samsung Electronics.

 

You must be passionate about creating new devices and technologies, and ready to learn on the fly, solve complex problems, work closely with others, and creatively approach engineering tasks at all scales. You will:

  • Be part of the team leading market research, product planning, and ideation to launch process for TTT projects
  • Help to identify new market entry opportunities for TTT Projects
  • Think technically and strategically to help articulate project vision and define technical approaches
  • Work with leadership to drive communication, coordination, and execution of strategy
  • Engage in cross-functional work spanning technical, strategic, and operational

 

Requirements

  • BS or MS in engineering, science, mathematics or experience in a related field or equivalent practical experience and training
  • 5+ years of related experience in product management, product marketing and strategic planning working directly with engineering and product teams
  • Experience performing primary and secondary market research, user research and go-to-market planning
  • Experience managing projects across functional teams

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • MS in business field is a plus
  • Experience with developing product vision and roadmap and translating the vision into a business plan
  • Experience in one or more of the following fields: consumer electronics, software services, robotics, health, consumer appliances, etc.
  • Experience with Adobe Creative Suite a strong plus
  • Startup or other entrepreneurship experience

Physical Requirements

This position will be performed in an office setting. The position will require the incumbent to sit and stand at a desk, communicate in person and by telephone, frequently operate standard office equipment, such as telephones and computers, and reach with hands and arms.
