The Summer Olympic and Paralympic Games will be hosted in Los Angeles, California in 2028, returning to the United States for the first time in over 30 years. 2028 will be the first time LA hosts the Paralympic Games, creating an opportunity to expand awareness, understanding and inclusion of people with disabilities.

United States Olympic and Paralympic Properties (USOPP) is a commercial joint venture between the Los Angeles Organizing Committee for the Olympic and Paralympic Games 2028 (LA 2028) and the U.S. Olympic & Paralympic Committee (USOPC). The USOPP is the sole entity charged with marketing and selling combined commercial assets, including; rights to the 2022, 2024, 2026 and 2028 U.S Olympic and Paralympic Teams and the 2028 Olympic and Paralympic Games in Los Angeles.

Manager, Business Operations

The Manager of Business Operations will oversee, manage and execute all operational and event needs for the Consumer Products group inclusive of all VIK and inventory management for United States Olympic and Paralympic Properties (USOPP). The Manager of Business Operations will report to the Sr. Manager, Consumer Products.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage all Licensee VIK and ordering for the United States Olympic & Paralympic Committee (USOPC) / Team USA delegation gear for the Olympic and Paralympic Games of Milan-Cortina 2026, Olympic and Paralympic Games of LA28, and the 2027 Pan American and Parapan American Games
  • Assist in the management of all LA28 VIK needs for volunteer outfitting and administration
  • Develop and execute a scalable gifting program across the organization for both USOPP and LA28 following the LA28 gifting policy
  • Oversee digital and physical gift inventories and make recommended purchases to maintain agreed inventory levels.
  • Implement best practices for managing inventory, purchases, receipts and deliveries aligning with best practices as established by Consumer Products and Finance.
  • Manage all Consumer Product operations needs and logistics including but limited to Team USA Welcome Experience (TUWE), Olympic Trials Retail, and Marketing initiatives for both Team USA and LA28.
  • Responsible for the execution of a broad range of USOPP operations inclusive of managing, planning, developing, and implementing Consumer Products’ event components. This includes contract development, licensee look and feel, audio visual needs, and logistics
  • Develop and manage a comprehensive event budget ensuring each event remains within budget.

Background and Requirements:

  • 5+ years of experience in retail and event operations or related fields
  • Proven planner in inventory management and operations executions
  • Ability to lead and direct third party suppliers and licensees to align with overall company financial and engagement goals
  • Ability to work cross-functionally across multiple different stakeholders and marketing initiatives
  • Dynamic leader adept at thriving in both small-scale and large-scale environments with proven experience managing high-performing teams
  • Optimistic and collaborative multi-tasker who can manage a dynamic environment with numerous critical stakeholders simultaneously

Education:

  • An undergraduate degree in, marketing, communications, logistics, retail, or business or equivalent work experience

 

The annual base salary range for this position is $85,000.00 - $105.000.00 The pay scale provided is the range that LA28 reasonably expects to pay as starting base compensation for this role. All LA28 compensation remains subject to final determination based on individual candidate qualifications, experience, or other reasonable criteria consistent with LA28’s operational business needs and applicable law.
