The Summer Olympic and Paralympic Games will be hosted in Los Angeles, California in 2028, returning to the United States for the first time in over 30 years. 2028 will be the first time LA hosts the Paralympic Games, creating an opportunity to expand awareness, understanding and inclusion of people with disabilities.

Senior Manager, Fleet Transportation:

LA28’s Senior Manager, Fleet Transportation will oversee the development and implementation of LA28’s Stakeholder Fleet system, a core function of the Games Mobility and Transportation Program, by managing a complex collaboration across LA28’s functional areas and external partners while maintaining credibility and ensuring key milestones are met.  The Senior Manager, Fleet Transportation will report directly to the Vice President of Transportation while working closely with the leaders across LA28’s Functional Areas.

Key Responsibilities:

•    Lead the end-to-end delivery of LA28's Stakeholder Fleet system, including planning, development, procurement, implementation, delivery, operation, and the expansion of the fleet services group within the Transportation team with assistance from LA28 staff and consultants. Manage and support the demand analysis and fleet requirements estimations for the Games “T” systems. Games “T” systems defined as all vehicles required to transport all Games stakeholders, including, and not limited to, all key Games constituents [e.g., Athletes, Media, International Federation members], spectators, and workforce.
•    Lead the procurement and deployment of all Games “T” Fleet systems, in coordination with commercial partners, when applicable.
•    Prepare documentation of Games “T” Fleet systems to meet applicable IOC milestones.
•    Participate in stakeholder reviews and negotiations for all Games “T” Fleet systems.
•    Oversee the operations of all Games "T" Fleet systems before and during Games periods. 
•    Support the development of LA28’s Games Mobility and Transportation Program in collaboration with LA28’s internal Functional Areas, external partners, and subject matter experts, 
•    Provide technical analysis to determine specific operational components of the Games-related transportation components.
•    Prepare meeting materials, agendas, minutes, and presentation decks to support the development and refinement of the spectator and workforce transportation system.
•    Participate in meetings with key public agency partners and Federal/State agency staff to obtain funding for critical Games transportation needs.
•    Assist in monitoring overall Games transportation milestones and deliverables, as well as assist in providing progress reports and updates to LA28 leadership and/or the IOC.
•    Assist in developing, editing, and refining communications materials prepared for or in support of community outreach and engagement activities related to Games transportation.
•    Conduct field reviews and participate in site testing and evaluations for specific components of the spectator and workforce transportation system.

 

Position Requirements & Expectations:

•    7+ years of relevant experience in transportation planning, design, construction, operations, and/or maintenance, particularly as a part of a public transportation agency or event delivery entity, with direct experience developing, deploying, and managing fleet operations for events 
•    A strong knowledge of transportation planning and operations, with a clear track record of successfully coordinating with multiple agencies and stakeholders to deliver event fleet operations.
•    Strong business acumen with exceptional strategic thinking and project management skills.
•    Aptitude for prioritizing and planning multi-stakeholder initiatives, providing direction when needed, empowering others, and removing obstacles to get work done.
•    Ability to create effective relationships, influence, and collaborate at all organizational levels and across all partner groups.
•    Strong verbal and written communication skills to educate others on complex technical concepts and to lead, facilitate, and present to large and small groups.
•    Ability to gather and assess data and produce technical reports and/or slide decks.
•    Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Excel and PowerPoint required.
•    Comprehensive understanding of political, socioeconomic, societal, behavioral, and environmental issues that influence transportation to ensure equitable access in fleet operations planning.
•    Demonstrated commitment to Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Belonging.

 

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in transportation planning or engineering, urban planning, or related field/equivalent work experience.

The annual base salary range for this position is $115,000.00 - $130,000.00. The pay scale provided is the range that LA28 reasonably expects to pay as starting base compensation for this role. All LA28 compensation remains subject to final determination based on individual candidate qualifications, experience, or other reasonable criteria consistent with LA28’s operational business needs and applicable law.

LA28 does not provide relocation assistance.
