About the Role
iCapital is looking for an Associate / Assistant Vice President, to cover the Investment Advisers business and be a part of the Corporate Finance team. This role will include corporate accounting and financial operations responsibilities specific to the firm’s Investment Advisers and related vehicles, such as month end close duties, assisting with the preparation of budgets and forecasts, and consolidation of financial reports. This position will report to the Vice President, Regulated Entities.
Responsibilities
- Support all accounting and compliance related functions of the Company’s RIAs and related vehicles:
- Produce clean and timely financials as required by regulators, clients, and internal commercial teams.
- Reconcile cash accounts and book journal entries.
- Ensure accuracy of payables, receivables, and other accruals.
- Process revenue collections and trails payments.
- Review and reconcile allocation of shared expenses from parent to subsidiary.
- Update time-trend analytics to explain variance on month-over-month, quarterly, and year-on-year Financials.
- Implement effective internal controls and improve documentation of internal control processes.
- Liaise with external auditors, tax preparer, and other 3rd party service providers and clients.
- Assist with special projects as needed, such as new systems implementations.
Qualifications
- 5-7 years of Corporate Accounting experience within the Financial Services industry preferred
- Registered Investment Adviser experience preferred but not required
- Experience with NetSuite preferred but not required.
- Knowledge of booking journal entries and consolidation of financial statements required
- Degree in Accounting required
- CPA license preferred but not required
- FINRA Series 99, 65, and/or 66 licenses preferred but not required
- Proficient with Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
- Able to manage large sets of data and be able to implement checks and balances
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Detailed-oriented with big-picture situational awareness
