About the Role

The Head of Investor Relations (IR) will lead a Global team of over 50 employees distributed across multiple locations including New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, Massachusetts, Canada, Portugal, and Singapore. The Investor Relations team is designed to provide iCapital clients with best-in-class service to ensure a seamless experience throughout the lifecycle of their investments.

This role will include management of the team and partnership with its leadership and the Client Solutions team to manage client education, onboarding, and service to our vast and diverse client base, including General Partners, Wirehouses, RIAs, Broker Dealers, Financial Advisors, and their support teams as well as iCapital employees and end investors. In addition, a deep partnership with our Technology team is necessary to drive controls, automation, and continue building scale.

The Head of Investor Relations will work with a broad range of clients within a fast-paced, collaborative, and entrepreneurial environment and liaise with our Client Coverage team to optimize the user experience and ensure our clients’ overall success. The ideal leader of this team has an innovative mindset and will work to develop new and better ways to drive the business forward. 

 Responsibilities

  • Liaise with internal and external clients on opportunities to improve the client experience and outcomes.
  • Design and improve the control environment for Investor Relations in coordination with platform technology build outs.
  • Work with the Product and Technology teams to design new and enhance existing platform functionality.
  • Integrate new platform tools with existing workflows and processes.
  • Iterate on management reporting and perfect client deliverables.
  • Structure the team for efficiency and scale.
  • Client Management and Education:
    • Understand the iCapital platform and its various use cases and highlight and demonstrate the benefits to different client constituents.
    • Understand different alternative investment asset types and fund structures and help others understand them.
    • Understand iCapital’s client base, including how they interact with our funds and technology and ensure sufficient resources are being deployed to manage their investments.
    • Educate on all aspects of an alternative investment’s life cycle as well as taxes, terms, subscription processing, redemptions, transfers, and LOAs.
  • Team Management and Training:
    • Continue to hire and refine the organizational structure in line with global growth, client needs, and business needs.
    • Look for efficiencies with respect to training and hiring to bring new client service associates online quickly and consistently grow the knowledge base.
    • Drive change in processes, challenge the status quo, ensure the team has a client first and client centric mentality, and has the tools to deliver on it.
    • Ensure best in class training programs for the existing team and all new hires.
  • Assist in Fund Raising Activities:
    • Oversee all aspects of onboarding new clients and investors.
    • Manage subscription activities and fund raising across many funds per week including working with third party admins to clear clients and managing close processes.
    • Oversee the management of all fund related transactional processes related to a client subscription. This includes but is not limited to LOAs, transfers, and redemptions.
    • Shepherd incoming investors via their advisors throughout the lifecycle of the investment process.
    • Oversee and manage all investment related communications across our client base.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a related field
  • 15+ years of experience in financial services, preferably in a client services or investor relations role. Experience with alternative investments is a plus
  • Excellent leadership and managerial skills, emotional intelligence, diplomatic, charismatic, persuasive, and credible to a wide variety of audiences, both internal and external
  • Passion for the application of innovative technology
  • Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Willingness to learn new topics and work in an evolving, entrepreneurial business environment
  • Able to work well in a cross-functional, matrix management environment with a highly collaborative, team-oriented approach to problem-solving
  • Effectively prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and work under pressure with a high level of attention to detail
  • Experience managing a global team of people

Benefits

The base salary range for this role is $240,000 to $280,000.  iCapital offers a compensation package which includes salary, equity for all full-time employees, and an annual performance bonus.
