What will you be doing?
As the software Engineering Manager for this team, you will use both people skills and technical expertise to grow and guide the team. You will play a key role in attracting and growing talent, creating a healthy, high-performing team, and raising the performance for all Fictiv Engineering.
- Create a high-performing team that values transparency, openness, and psychological safety
- Attract and recruit talented software engineers interested in solving hard technical problems
- Lead the team in planning, designing, and delivering improvements to the development experience
- Provide technical guidance to the team, making thoughtful, balanced tradeoffs between scalability, stability, maintainability, security, and business needs.
Desired Traits:
- Your seasoned expertise is solid in Backend Engineering, (Full Stack or Frontend are additional accepted attributes).
- As an experienced manager, you have a strong motivation to build empowered, excited, and productive engineering teams that deliver quality solutions.
- You’re proficient in building large scale customer-facing web applications
- You have hands-on experience with complex domains, security practices, and AWS cloud architecture.
- As an experienced technologist, you don’t mind being in the code and you have an ability to dive into the technical details.
- You bring a solid understanding of Computer Science and Software Engineering fundamentals and process and you’re a clear, proactive communicator.
- You provide business context to your team and generate excitement for new tools, frameworks, and practices developed by your team.
