The role

Within our wider People & Culture team, we have a large, talented and supportive Partnering team, focused on continuous learning, sharing knowledge, insights, and best practices. 
The Partnering team provides strategic and thoughtful guidance, enabling managers and leaders to not only perform, but grow in their roles. In addition, partners contribute to and lead on projects that  build tools and programs which  support our culture and the wider organisation. 
You will spend the majority of your time working with Leaders and their teams in the Product Unit, in addition to contributing to projects to build tools and programs to support our culture. The Product Unit team is an evolving team, with a mission to to accelerate intelligent experiences across Google's platforms and products.

  • Delivering high impact solutions to challenges including organisation design, career development and leadership capability, ensuring alignment with the GDM’s strategic goals.
  • Partnering and coaching leaders  to develop their skills and improve team performance, and fostering a culture of continuous learning.
  • Acting with confidence in an inspiring and fast paced environment, instilling trust in everyone you interact with, and delivering thoughtful and bespoke solutions.
  • Being proactive and adaptable, anticipating and addressing challenges before they arise.
  • Utilising a data driven approach to partnering
  • Focusing on continuous improvement (Kaizen approach)

About you

In order to set you up for success as a People & Culture Partner at Google DeepMind,  we look for the following skills and experience:

  • You have substantial experience operating as an HR professional, preferably some of which was in a small but fast growing business,with a proven track record of success in leading and developing HR strategies within a fast-growing business environment
  • You thrive in a dynamic environment and possess the ability to lead and manage multiple complex projects simultaneously, while effectively prioritizing and delegating tasks. You seamlessly transition between strategic planning and hands-on execution, demonstrating a strong understanding of both the operational and strategic aspects of HR
  • You possess an outstanding understanding of human behaviour including an understanding of self
  • You are able to build solid relationships with people quickly and have a high sense of empathy; you put them at ease and create understanding.
  • Being extremely organised, you are used to working at a very quick pace and balancing many different tasks. You are proactive and see what needs to be done.
