We continually pursue scalable and sustainable ways to optimize our work, striving to ensure we cultivate an environment where people can be both highly collaborative and deeply creative, making progress at pace.

About us

Artificial Intelligence could be one of humanity’s most useful inventions. At Google DeepMind, we’re a team of scientists, engineers, machine learning experts and more, working together to advance the state of the art in artificial intelligence. We use our technologies for widespread public benefit and scientific discovery, and collaborate with others on critical challenges, ensuring safety and ethics are the highest priority.

Sitting within the GenAI programs, this role is part of the post-training programs team. The Post-Training Program Management team enables the teams to make fast-paced progress towards our mission, and leads operational design and execution across the post-training area. Collaborating closely with researchers and product teams, we focus on delivering the best models and research innovations.

As a Technical Program Manager for Post-Training, you will:

  • Scope and drive complex and ambitious programs cutting across multiple teams, manage simultaneous projects balancing between short-term deliveries and setting programs up for long-term success.
  • Navigate through ambiguity for complex, rapidly changing projects; adjust and adapt plans and strategies as project conditions change.
  • Bring together diverse teams and members for fast-paced deliveries.
  • Be the trusted owner of the status of your projects. Clearly identify dependencies/risks/issues, and drive progress and visibility.
  • Build strong relationships with key stakeholders and influence action and outcomes without direct authority, ensuring alignment among the stakeholders.
  • Have the ability to rapidly grasp technical concepts, contribute to relevant discussions, and translate them into actionable program strategies.
  • Be highly organized, self-motivated, and drive process improvements and efficiencies, streamlining processes, simplify execution, and bring tooling efficiencies if applicable.
  • Have excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly articulate technical concepts to various audiences and levels including executive management.

The following would be a plus:

  • BS degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related technical field
  • 8+ years of leading large-scale engineering projects, preferably across multiple geographies and time zones.
  • Demonstrated success in product launch and/or go-to-market execution.
  • Strong understanding of ML/AI principles and their distinctions from traditional software development.
  • Experience managing multilingual project requirements and deliveries.
