The Role:
We’re looking for a founding leader to start a Consumer Goods team. The mission of the Vice President of Consumer Goods is to identify and capture value in partnership with our most strategic customers and prospects by building a long-term vision, business case, and roadmap to win in modern commerce. The ideal leader for the Consumer Goods team has experience leading large scale digital transformations as an internal leader or as a strategy consultant. You have created and executed programs where you have not only helped paint the picture of what is possible to internal stakeholders but also drove execution to achieve the desired value and outcomes. You are confident, experienced and credible in the C-Suite, motivated to drive change and results up, down and across the organization.
The Vice President of Consumer Goods is an expert in communicating and building alignment around a long-term vision and plan for large-scale and enterprise wide rollouts of CommerceIQ as the Retail Ecommerce Management Platform (REM) for our highest value customers. The leader will be responsible for collaborating with pre-sales and post-sales teams in creating, defining, and driving internal and external alignment for large, unstructured, and strategic sales opportunities with new and existing accounts. A successful leader will have complex problem identification and problem solving skills and will be a strong presenter, communicator, and collaborator - with the inherent ability to influence why prospects and customers should change now and articulate the change needed in a customized manner. Finally the Consumer Goods leader will be a key voice (of the customer) in critical decisions being made in the company - whether in QBRs or product roadmap reviews.
What You'll Do:
- The primary objective of this role is to partner with the CRO to enable the largest partnership and revenue opportunities for CommerceIQ
- Work closely with internal sales teams and other functions to help define account strategies and prioritize sales initiatives, based on value creation potential and opportunity size
- Engage with our largest and most strategic customers and prospects to recommend new areas where CommerceIQ can deliver value
- Facilitate internal and external workshops to discover customers' current and future business capabilities with the goal of identifying, prioritizing and measuring key business value drivers
- Communicate with customers and prospects to build alignment around a long-term vision for how to succeed in the post-pandemic ecommerce era and how CommerceIQ’s unified and automation approaches can help them win big.
- Build compelling business case presentations and ROI (Return on Investment) analyses aimed at accelerating, justifying, and/or expanding CommerceIQ’s footprint
- Develop and maintain a deep understanding of both the CommerceIQ product and our customers' specific needs
- Work closely with Sales leadership to identify and prioritize strategic product enhancements and service opportunities
- Consult on industry best practices with our Global prospects & customers as a commerce thought leader
- Internally consult on 1) Product Marketing - on how best to articulate the value proposition for CommerceIQ features to the market, 2) Product Management - on what the most strategic customers need developed in our product.
- Over time, hire and develop a strong team of industry solution leaders
- As the founding leader of the Consumer Goods team at CommerceIQ, create strong foundations for the team. Start with executing Consumer Goods with CommerceIQ’s top 5 customer opportunities and subsequently use that experience to articulate the vision, create playbooks and headcount plans to scale
- Be the voice of the customer in key meetings such as product reviews, QBRs
What You'll Bring:
- Excellent verbal, interpersonal and presentation skills, with a track record of interacting with C-levels
- Strong problem solving skills
- Domain expertise in at least one of the following areas: ecommerce or CPG
- Consistent record of delivering business value and growth
- Entrepreneurial spirit for customer experience, business, market trends, and technology
- Ideal experience level is 10-15 years in CPG, ecommerce or consulting
