Role overview

The Senior Accounts Payable Analyst will be responsible for overseeing accounts payable, procurement, expense management, and accounting functions. This position will be essential to the CarGurus vendor management and the end-to-end transactions. We are interested in candidates who are excited to build something new and thrives in a fast-paced / innovative company! 

What you'll do

  • Gain a deep understanding of a newly implemented product line and it's impact on our procure to pay process 
  • Document and communicate detailed business requirements for procure to pay function to system architects 
  • Responsible for development and processing of Accounts Payable, Procurement, and Payment transactions  
  • Handle reconciliation of all payment requests, invoices, cash transactions created in our financial system
  • Prepare and post month end journal entries for AP balances to be approved by procure to pay manager 
  • Look for areas of operational improvement to ensure efficient, scalable and effective processing of AP and procurement transactions 
  • Manage Corporate Card Program and ensure reconciliation of transactions are made in accordance with policy
  • Partner with Accounting Manager to ensure proper to ensure proper coding of invoices and payments 
  • Perform analytical ad hoc reporting and give insight around monthly KPI's 
  • Ensure all invoices are recorded accurately in proper period as a function of month-end close process  

What you'll bring

  • Strong understanding of accounts payable, procurement, and travel & expense systems and procedures 
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience in Finance Operations, specifically in Accounts Payable and Accounting 
  • Previous participation in the implementation of an ERP system for a purchase to pay stream 
  • Experience with process definition and writing standard operating procedures is required 
  • Prior experience serving internal and external customers and vendors
  • Ability to work in a paperless, consistent volume, fast-paced environment
  • Accustom to working with timetables around weekly, monthly, and quarterly deadlines
  • Technical understanding of financial systems, preferably Concur and NetSuite
  • Quick learner and self-starter who has the ability to work independently within a start-up environment
  • Sharp analytical, problem-solving, and reconciliation skills 
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
