Role overview

CarOffer is seeking a skilled and experienced SQL Server Database Administrator to join our engineering team. Our engineering team is at the forefront of developing world-class solutions in the automotive space, specifically tailored for used car dealerships. We are committed to revolutionizing the industry by leveraging cutting-edge technologies and innovative approaches. SQL Server databases are at the heart of our solutions powering several of CarOffer’s applications. The successful candidate will be responsible for the design, implementation, maintenance, and performance of our SQL Server databases.

What you'll do

  • Design, implement, and maintain SQL Server databases to support our applications and services.
  • Ensure high levels of data availability, security, and integrity.
  • Monitor and optimize database performance, including query tuning and index maintenance.
  • Implement and manage database backup and recovery strategies.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve database-related issues in a timely manner.
  • Participate in capacity planning and database scaling efforts.
  • Work closely with our infrastructure team to test and validate disaster recovery procedures.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest SQL Server features, best practices, and industry trends.

What you'll bring

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience as a SQL Server Database Administrator.
  • Strong understanding of SQL Server database architecture, design principles, and best practices.
  • Proficiency in SQL, T-SQL, and database performance tuning techniques.
  • Experience with database backup, recovery, and high availability solutions (e.g., AlwaysOn, Replication).
  • Familiarity with database security best practices and access control mechanisms.
  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, agile environment.
  • Experience with Azure SQL Database or other cloud-based database solutions.
  • Knowledge of data warehousing, ETL processes, and business intelligence tools.
  • Familiarity with database monitoring and performance analysis tools (e.g., SQL Server Profiler, Query Store).
  • Experience with scripting languages such as PowerShell or Python.
