Brooke Charter Schools is a network of five public charter schools serving grades K-12 in Mattapan, Roslindale, and East Boston. What is the School Psychology Internship?
Under the supervision of a licensed school psychologist develop skills in order to:
Conduct comprehensive evaluations including cognitive, academic, attention, social/emotional and functional behavior assessments
Provide counseling services, both individually and in small groups
Participate actively in IEP, RTI, and Child Study Team meetings in order to produce comprehensive and appropriate educational plans for students
Serve as a liaison between the school, student, parent and external agencies
Make referrals to external agencies and appropriate programs for students in need of support services
Provide crisis intervention for students, which may include risk assessments, safety contracts and social service interventions
Collaborate with parents and teachers, engaging them as partners in the student’s therapeutic intervention
Conduct classroom screening to assist teachers in planning effective educational strategies for all students
Perform other related duties as requested by supervisor
