We are looking to hire a high energy, motivated and curious Pioneer to join the central legal and HR team at Blenheim Chalcot, the UK’s most successful venture builder.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Minimum 2 years' experience working in a legal and/or HR support role
  • Minimum 2.1 LLB undergraduate degree
  • A passion for start-ups and disruption, with experience in or ambitions to build your own venture in the future
  • Emotional intelligence and be compassionate and supportive in nature  
  • Give evidence of the ability to be a self-starter and be able to adapt to multiple roles in a variety of high-pace environments
  • A passion for building your network and capacity to work well with colleagues and stakeholders at C-suit and executive levels

Duties and opportunities:

  • Work within the central Legal and HR team at Blenheim Chalcot to identify and map out key internal and external business processes, identifying problem areas and provide effective solutions 
  • Identify, establish and build strong internal partnerships and revenue-generating external partnerships, while rolling up your sleeves and doing whatever is required to achieve the goals  
  • Identify areas for improvement within the central Legal and HR departments and set up efficient governance processes to resolve such areas of concern
  • Help prepare our BC ventures so that they’re ready for an exit or round of external funding
  • Help central Legal and HR collate and properly document key information about the various BC ventures (e.g. current authorised share capital, options status & processes, pre-emption processes etc.)
  • Help manage projects and advise our ventures on topical issues – for example: legal and HR issues to consider when rolling out flexible working schemes across the ventures
  • Create PowerPoint presentations for your Legal and HR team members
  • Brainstorm and conduct in-depth research on contemporary topics and then draft updates which we can circulate amongst the ventures
  • Brainstorm and implement ways to (i) increase cross-pollination of ideas amongst BC ventures, (ii) boost engagement with BC ventures, and (iii) create and disseminate Legal and HR learning and development lessons
  • Take part in a variety of informal learning and networking events, which brings groups of people working in the same field together across our ventures, charities and other external organisations
