Job Description

At Aperia, we rely on a dynamic team of Scrum Masters. We’re seeking a Scrum Master who is ready to work with new technologies and challenges in a forward-thinking organization that’s always pushing boundaries. 

Core Responsibilities

  • Facilitate Iteration/Scrum and ART events (PI Planning, Daily scrum, Sprint Planning, Review/Demo and Retrospective)

  • Coach the Agile Team in self-organization and cross-functionality

  • Identify and remove impediments or roadblocks that may hinder team productivity and success.

  • Optimize Flow and Team progress through backlog tracking, burn down metrics, velocity, etc

  • Understand and practice agility throughout the Product Life Cycle 

  • Encourage continual improvement and innovation in the platform and application development process

  • Lean-Agile Champion that increases the productivity of the Scrum Team

  • Be responsible as coordinator and fixer of all issues and ensure that the team can deliver with minimal blockers. 

  • Identify areas of improvement, encourage cross training and automation of manual work.

  • Oversee and provide regular status reporting on Scope, Risk and Schedule Management to assure implementation of approved PRD.

  • Develop a deep knowledge of all aspects of the project, define priorities and effectively manage planning, execution, and monitoring to successful conclusion.

  • Responsible for the overall day to day facilitation of one or more Agile teams and in conjunction with Project management task as assign. 

Functional Responsibilities

  • Collaborate closely with product owners, development teams, and stakeholders to drive continuous improvement and deliver business value.
  • Lead and Coach employees and stakeholders to understand, enact, and adopt Scrum practices.
  • Work with other Scrum Masters to increase the effectiveness of the application of the Teams and ART across in the organization. 
  • Promote a culture of transparency, trust, and collaboration within the team and across the organization.
  • Serve as a Scrum Master for one or more Agile teams, ensuring effective and efficient delivery of projects.
  • Coach the new teams in organizational environments in which Agile is not yet fully adopted and understood.
  • Drive the adoption of Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) principles and practices, enabling successful delivery across multiple teams and projects.
  • Provide leadership and guidance to teams in adopting and optimizing Agile methodologies, tools, and practices.

Technical Skills

  • Good English skills (both verbal and written)
  • Minimum 5 years applicable experience with 2 years working as Scrum Master.

  • Strong expertise in Lean-Agile mindset and Frameworks, including Scaled Agile, Scrum, Kanban

  • Experience implementing best Agile practices and standards, and mentoring/teaching junior practitioners.

  • Excellent facilitation, coaching, and mentoring skills

  • Scrum Master certification (e.g. CSM, PSM, PMI-ACP and SSM)

  • Experience with Agile tools Jira

  • Experience working in the Fintech industry.

  • MS in any Engineering discipline, MS in Management program or an MBA.

  • SAFe certifications – SSM, SASM, ASE, PMI-ACP etc. 

Education or Certifications

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Systems, Business Administration or related discipline or equivalent experience
