Anaplan are looking for a motivated PRINCIPAL SOFTWARE ENGINEER to work in an autonomous Agile team with an emphasis on collaboration, innovation, and honesty. This position is based in our YORK office and will require in the office 2 days minimum.To drive this exceptional performance, we look for exceptional Software Engineers, regardless of your technical background or languages of choice— smart, passionate people who believe in simplicity, agility and performance and can choose and use the best tools for the job. In this role as a Principal Engineer the additional ability to support, enable and mentor your team is also required.

Your Impact

  • You will primarily be looking after the data presentation layer in our core calculation technology engine, working on Anaplan's Data Layer: High-volume, high-capacity, high-availability, high-performance big data
  • The team is a high performance autonomous team, taking responsibility for designing and developing feature changes

More About You

  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to craft well architected and easy to reason about applications regardless of the “tier”.
  • Expertise writing scalable backend micro-services using the JVM with Java, Kotlin and Spring Boot.
  • You will have a strong focus on writing tests and will have a clear view of how and why different kinds of tests should be developed and run.
  • Experience using deployment tools/technologies such as Docker, Kubernetes, Chef or Puppet is advantageous.
