What We’re Looking For:
Are you passionate about learning new technologies and teaching them to others? Do you love writing and storytelling as much as you love technology? Then this may be the position for you!
We’re creating innovative programs to train new audiences for careers in information security and cybersecurity, and upskill current cybersecurity professionals. We’re looking for people with passion and a strong love of writing, as well as a demonstrated ability to learn on their feet and can take ownership and accountability for their work.
This is a fully remote position, but to encourage team connectedness (e.g. ease with getting to team off-sites etc.) we prefer to hire individuals within 50 miles of one of our office locations.
Responsibilities Include, But Are Not Limited To:
- Write and review detailed lesson plans that can either be instructor-facing (used during teaching) or student-facing, depending on the specific program for which they are creating curriculum.
- Architect and scope curriculum modules, units, and individual lesson plans with minimal guidance
- Follow and promote best practices in lesson plan development, instructional design, and style guides
- Work within an internal team of curriculum engineers and outside subject-matter experts
- Coordinate and partner with Program Support Manager in supporting the instructor community, responding to issues, and proposing and executing on solutions
- Plan, review, and report on sprint progress and accomplishments; participate in daily team scrums
- Support admissions and instructional teams at with training and other materials as requested
- Stay abreast of tech trends and create content to meet demands
- Conceive of and collaborate on new ideas for more effectively enhancing student learning
Things That Should Be In Your Background:
- 2+ years of real cybersecurity experience.
- Demonstrated writing ability to clearly communicate engaging instruction and activities that teach technical cybersecurity skills to largely beginner or intermediate level students.
- Someone who is always “creating.” This job is all about thinking on your feet and spinning quick and fun activities to demonstrate key concepts. You need to be someone who can dream up a proof of concept idea… then create it in a day or two.
- Someone who is curious and always eager to learn. We expect you to be comfortable doing research and acquiring new knowledge and skills rapidly.
- Someone who is collaborative, enjoys working with and learning from their teammates, and is humble.
- A self-starter who can quickly understand processes and workflows, contribute to and bolster them, and is comfortable taking ownership of tasks and projects.
- Someone who has a background in several of the below topics, and advanced technical knowledge in at least one:
- System Administration
- Penetration Testing
- Coding and Application Security
- Cloud Security
- Incident Response/Threat Intel
Other Attributes That Will Help You In This Role:
- Instructional Design experience and have created cybersecurity curriculum
