What We’re Looking For:

This individual, reporting to the Director, Implementation, will be responsible for supporting implementation of new products, programs, and courses to meet business and revenue goals. The Manager will independently lead implementation for a portfolio of new program and course launches, managing internal and external relationships to ensure program success, and provide implementation support for more complex launches. They will also support enterprise-wide projects that support standardization, growth, and efficiency across implementation, and develop, maintain and promote Implementation resources.

Responsibilities Include, But Are Not Limited To:

  • Project Management (45%) 
    • Independently lead implementation for a portfolio of new program/course launches across multiple external partners
    • Provide implementation support to senior team members and oversee phases of more complex launches
    • Define the project scope and objectives based on contractual obligations communicated by the business development team 
    • Lead all aspects of implementation, including developing, maintaining, and driving the timeline, project plan, and stakeholder relationships
    • Manage and communicate project expectations to internal and external stakeholders across functional teams
    • On a consistent basis, provide project updates to internal and external stakeholders at all levels on implementation strategy, project progress, and timeline risks 
    • Translate the needs of internal and external partners into technical specifications for systems design and develop business case when requirements fall outside of technical capabilities
    • Define operational processes needed to implement a sustainable product and support the program at all stages 
    • Ensure deadlines are met, forecast risks, and assess and manage impacts of change to minimize risk to launch timing
    • Create and maintain documentation on program structure and all decisions made throughout the implementation period in order to ensure a smooth transition to program management
    • Gather and implement partner and program details in CRM systems
  • Stakeholder Management (35%)
    • Effectively matrix-manage a cross functional launch team of stakeholders across 2U (Marketing, Technology, Operations, Partnerships & others) and with external partners to ensure overall success of program/course launches
    • Support partner relationships with the broader team in order to set a strong foundation for the partnership, escalate implementation blockers, and drive launch priorities
    • Navigate and influence partner relationships to ensure clarity of project goals, timely delivery of partner-owned milestones, and promote partner satisfaction
    • Effectively build and own internal relationships with cross-functional leaders at the Director level and below, and delegate project tasks to those individuals best positioned to execute 
    • Work collaboratively with 20+ internal and external stakeholders (across all role levels) to coordinate resources and ensure an on-time execution of launches
    • Identify and assess escalation points and collaborate efficiently with stakeholders to problem-solve and rapidly remove roadblocks
    • Work with the broader Business Development team to ensure program vision, design, and contractual obligations are effectively communicated across the teams and internal stakeholders
    • Work with partners to ensure courses and programs are consistently available on the platform to achieve revenue goals 
    • Serve as a subject matter expert for relevant product lines and aid support teams in escalating and resolving issues. 
  • Process Development and Standardization (20%)
    • Support innovation-focused initiatives and team goals to address business and organizational needs at scale
    • Proactively lead efforts to implement process improvements across cross-functional teams and systems that support scalability and learner and partner growth
    • Lead the standardization of processes and best practices 
    • Maintain and promote Implementation resources to ensure processes and best practices are documented, accessible, and utilized
    • Handle additional operational and administrative tasks as needed
    • Team Mentorship: Act as a role model for others within the team. Actively take part in training and supporting teammates. 

Things That Should Be In Your Background:

  • Bachelor's degree required
  • 4-6 years of experience in project management, operations, client management, program management; higher education, tech industry preferred
  • Strong project management skills essential
  • Excellent computer skills, coupled with the ability to quickly learn new software suites and functionality
  • Extraordinary organizational skills, attention to detail and ability to multitask
  • Demonstrated success with leading and managing multiple stakeholders and priorities in the absence of direct line authority
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work and contribute in a team environment
  • Self-driven and motivated with ability to work independently while meeting expectations of the role
  • Strong working knowledge of Google Suite, Smartsheets or similar Project Management software, and Lucidchart

  • Previous experience working with global and remote teams
  • Confidence in decision-making and ability to lead people in order to achieve results (preferred)
  • Ability to think critically and identify potential issues before they arise (preferred)
  • Enthusiasm and the ability to quickly adapt and thrive in a fast-paced, changing environment (preferred)
  • Proactive attitude, not afraid to ask how you can help and propose new process ideas (preferred)
  • Experience working with a web CMS, Excel, Salesforce, JIRA/Confluence or equivalent systems
